These swivel in the middle and at the brass fitting, making for a really free moving connection. I no longer have trouble with the hose kinking or getting twisted up.
I used Gasoila® Thread Sealant and put one swivel on each end of the hose. I had no leaks under pressure while pumping gas and moving the hose around; nor any leaks otherwise.
The swivels were smooth and seemed to naturally follow the hose wherever I pulled it.
I should have put these on long ago.

I did not notice any reduction in flow after installing. One reviewer commented that the through port is only 3/8″. I measured it, its real close to 3/4″. I also found some metal flakes in mine like another reviewed commented. They should be clean, however I find it is my responsibility that parts are clean before installation, so bits of material left over from manufacture should be removed but I kind of expect to see them also.
In the picture the port does look like 3/8″, but you are looking at it at an angle, it is much closer to 3/4″.
