A rubber plug to cover the hole where the rear window wiper used to be should be considered temporary protection at best. The window itself does a good job keeping rain and wind out but the rubber plug is easily vandalized or can dry out then leak. Still, if left alone in the hole, the plug itself is made well enough to last a good while.
