This part is under so much pressure it almost put my hood through the windshield…On my car it’s only to open hood to a 45 deg angle and then you can push the hood open to 90 deg if needed..These hood supports just push hood to 90 degrees with way to much force

Replaced possibly original struts from 2006 and replacement works excellent so far. I’ve read reviews that said struts didn’t last so will have to see

I bought these hood struts to replace the tired ones on my 2006 Mercedes-Benz E320. Instructions were simple, but effective. And replacement was also simple, but a little difficult, due to the pressure in the cartridges. Fortunately, I was able to put the hood into “maintenance mode” which allows the hood to raise higher, which enabled me to easily install these struts. But I would imagine that any other car which doesn’t allow for the hood to go higher might be tough to compress the strut to get it in place. But, overall, these struts seem to be powerful, well made, and priced well. I’d have no problem recommending them.

Bought these to replace hood struts for a 2006 Mercedes. Replacement was pretty straight-forward. I’ve had them installed for 3 months with no issues. Will update if they fail prematurely.
