Installed it in 5 minutes on a 2008 Honda Odyssey. Very strong and as someone else mentioned, almost lifts the gate itself. Very happy with the purchase.

I wish I had received the same product that everyone else has here for the Honda Odyssey hatch shocks. I got a pair that didn’t hold the weight at all, I had to put my original shocks back on which were already horrible enough because these shocks didn’t work at all. Must’ve been a factory mixup I don’t know. Just be careful.

This was purchased For a 2005 Honda Odyssey. It needed to be compressed by half an inch, which was the hardest part of the installation. One idea is to use ratchet straps around the whole thing and tighten the ratchet until it compresses so you can install it then release the ratchet straps.

The struts were very easy to install. It took less than 10 minutes. The only difficulty I had was compressing the rod about 2″ when putting them in.

We bought these for our Honda Odyssey. The original ones were old and failing. The rear tail gate was falling on our heads when we opened up the back end of our van to load and unload items. Not only was it annoying, if you forgot, you got smacked in the head. These installed in about 5-10 minutes and have improved our lives immensley. I mean, who wants to give up a mini van with 350,000 miles on it just because the back end won’t stay up when you open it? LOL not us. It was an inexpensive fix to a wonderful vehicle.
