This pump is for my 2003 Dodge Durango, 4.7L. My last OEM pump was making some whining noises when turning and leaking fluid constantly.
This pump looks the same as the original pump. The housing and reservoir look well manufactured. They pulley seems to rotate freely (not installed), I don’t feel or hear any grinding.
This pump is working perfectly. No leaks, no weird noises, and no issues with my power steering. Fit and function is perfect. Just have to transfer your power steering fluid cooler from your old unit to the new unit. That process is quite messy, so have some rags handy!
As for difficulty, it’s pretty straight forward. Only standard tools needed, and basic mechanical ability. Really, the worst part is the potential mess from disconnecting hoses. I recommend using a drip pan and lots of rags. Wear gloves! Be prepared to plug the hoses when disconnecting them as they never seem to stop leaking.
There were no directions with the part, but do you need them? I really don’t think so. If you’re unsure how to do this, consult a vehicle maintenance manual
I’ve been driving with this pump for a couple weeks and have had no issues. It seems to be a good value for the price and the peace of mind that it wont leave me stranded. My old original pump was beginning to make me nervous. Overall, I’m quite happy with this pump.

Seems to be a good quality product, ease of installation will depend on your mechanical skills but it’s not very difficult. Pump seems to function great so far i just got it put on but so far it’s working great and fixed my power steering problems. I’ll update if anything changes but so far I highly recommend, great part at a great price.

My old power steering pump was making some wild noises, but this replacement fit my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder perfectly! Installation was straightforward (if you’re a bit handy or know a good mechanic), and now my steering is smooth and quiet again. It feels just like the original. My brother and I share an old 2012 Xterra which we use for swamp-mudding here in Central Florida, and we have giant balloon tires on the thing, so of course we blew up the old power steering pump. Really hard to manually turn such giant tires on a lifted truck (SUV, whatever an Xterra technically is) when it’s not moving and with such big vaned tires digging into the mud. So no more mudding.
This pump came to the rescue. Quick enough install what with being pretty accessible and no need to swap over the pulley from the old one (whew! one less thing!), and we took the opportunity to check out the rack (it’s fine, those are tough) and of course change out all fluid with a couple drain-and-refills to get all the old burned fluid out.
This pump is stronger than the stock pump ever was, in my opinion. My brother thinks it’s about the same, but he’s forgetting it was easier back when it had smaller stock tires a dozen years ago. So I think this one generates more hydraulic assist pressure to the steering rack. Either way, looking forward to mudding again soon now that we can point this Xterra in the right direction!

My fiancé is currently restoring his late grandfather’s XJ and this power steering pump was a great replacement for it. Install was typical for this application and no issues so far. Will update the review if we start to notice any problems.
