This review is for one of the several aftermarket NOCO charger / X-connect compatible wiring harness cables I ordered to compare and evaluate. They perform the same function as the NOCO branded adapter cable but at a lower price. Many have grumbled about the fact that NOCO chose not to use the widely-accepted SAE style cable and generally does not bundle a cable with ring terminals with their chargers. Several of the options on Amazon provide very serviceable and cheaper alternatives.
These cables have ring terminals on one end and a NOCO / X-connect type connector on the other to mate with NOCO battery chargers. They can permanently installed, providing a much better electrical connection to the battery that the battery clips that typically come with the charger. This also makes it easier to connect and disconnect the charger.
It appears the several X-connect cables I reviewed came from the same factory. They are all the same length, use 16 AWG wire from the same cable company, have identical fuse holders with 20 amp fuses, have identical style ring terminals with molded strain reliefs, and the X-connect connectors are the same. The differences seem to be the size of the ring terminals, whether spare and/ or additional amperage fuses are included, and whether the cables are sold individually or in pairs.
These particular cables from ACEANEA have with ¼” / M6 ring terminals and come with spare 20 amp fuses. While I’ve used battery chargers with inline fuses for decades, I have never had to replace one but having spares on hand is a good precaution. Depending on the amperage of the charger, 20 amp fuses may be excessively high but it is easy to replace them with more appropriate, lower current fuses if desired.
For my application, I needed to replace the ring terminals with Anderson Powerpole connectors. Thus, I cut off the ring terminals and stripped the wire, giving me the chance to examine it. The wire is bare, untinned, multi-strand copper. It seems safe to conclude that all of the cables that use identically labeled wire are also copper. While there are some concerns about possible corrosion when untinned wire is used in automotive applications, here the connector and the ring terminals are sealed so it should not be a problem.
I gave these cables five stars since they are a good quality alternative to the NOCO branded equivalent. They have dust/weather closure caps to protect the X-connector when not in use. When making a selection, prospective purchasers should consider whether the included ring terminals meet their needs, whether they want spare fuses, and the number of wiring harnesses needed.

This battery charger lead cable works perfectly with the name brand proprietary connection. The fit is a bit tighter than the name brand, but the point is that it connects and works. The wiring and terminal connections are good. The biggest bonus is this is half the cost of the new brand and comes with two.
