本体の質感は上々で見た感じはなかなか立派に感じます。
こちらの製品はリレー分と配線部が分かれています。
殆どのリレーは端子が剥き出ていて
配線は付属しないものが多く、
本体は大丈夫にしても、ギボシ平端子等を使っても、
端子そのものは防水性は無いと言ってもよいと思います。
こちらの製品はその配線部分が密閉されて、
完全に防水された配線のみが外に出ている感じです。
商用車等のエンジンルームが座席下にあるような比較的雨水が当たりやすい場所にも良さそうかなと思っています。
難点ではありませんが、
多分多くの方がこれを組む時に難儀すると思うほどに
防水パッキンの大きさがぎりぎりで、
私も最初は手こずりましたが、
シリコンスプレーをパッキンとリレー側にほんの少し塗布すると意外とすんなり入ってくれました。
これだけの密閉度なら大概の状況で大丈夫なのではないかと思う程です。
スイッチ側のみてすが通電テストもしていて、
何ら問題なく作動した事を確認しています。
難点らしいものはとくに感じず、
防水性が心配な方や必要な方で、
価格が見合えば考慮してみてもよいと思います。
個人的には大変満足していますよ！

I ordered this relay to use in my diesel high school class as a teaching tool.
The relay has a nice diagram on the top and the terminals are marked with their numerical numbers on the bottom of the relay.
I wired it up to show my students how it works by powering the low current control side and then adding power with control side to ground to operate a 2-amp bulb.
The relay worked as expected. The connector seems durable enough for the students to be able to unplug it multiple times.
The low current coil side has 80-ohm resistance reading and when actuated the high current side Ohm’d out good. The stamping on the relay stated it is rated for 40 amps.
Overall, the relay has met my expectations.

The next time I put another relay in the engine bay, this is the one I will come back to! Very impressive unit!
The relay itself, it housed in a sealed, one-piece design. Even the mounting connection for the relay is done with an external bracket that slips into a slot. There is no break in the design. This bracket is a short piece of steel, that clips into the relay and then screws or bolts to “whatever”. Like the firewall.
The connector is very well made. I love the female connectors because they have a rather unique “spring” arrangement. As you push the connectors in, the is a small piece of the metal that is folder back. It’s hard to describe, but it is going to give you as truly great electrical contact!
Surrounding the connector, is a single gasket of silicone, that has three separate ribs around the outside permitter. It makes a terrific seal! At the rear, where the wires exit, is another block of silicone. It holds the four wires firmly and without allowing water to pass.
I have only applied power to check the relay and it does work, with a nice “snap” to it!
Bottom Line – If you need to, or plan to, having a 40A relay in the engine bay, take a real good look at this unit. Easy and fast mounting. Extremely well sealed against water intrusion. Four 5″ pigtails, two 14 gauge and two 16 gauge. Even has a nice little road map printed on the back, showing you the correct connections. Nice!

This relay and socket are just OK – it gets the job done, but it does not match the quality of more expensive ones.
For example: There is no groove on the socket base to function as a retainer for the rubber seal. Without this the seal can move or be pulled up when you are removing the relay. Not a big deal as this doesn’t affect the waterproofing when the socket and relay are mated together.
Likewise, the rubber seal that protects the wire entry on the bottom of the socket is not fixed into place and can also pull off. This is a bigger issue compared to the seal between the relay and the socket, as this can definitely let water in if the seal is not seated correctly. I ended up wrapping the whole socket and relay in silicone tape to keep everything sealed/positioned correctly.

マリンボート用とうたっているだけあって、防水対策はなかなかですね。ほぼむき出しに近いトラックのバッテリー周りに取り付けられるのは、便利ですね。その代わり、リレー本体とハーネスのパッキンがかなりキツク造られていますので、そのまま嵌めようとしても嵌りませんでした。フッ素スプレーを塗布しても入らなかったので、パッキンを先に少し入れた状態でコネクターを差し込んでようやく入りました。でも、ハーネスが外れる必要があるのかな？と思わなくもないですが、ケーブルもしっかりしていますし、安心して使えそうです。
