I installed this gas tank cap in my 2007 Chevrolet Malibu LS. And, I was able to attach its tether to the connection point on the gas tank fill door.
I hope this gas cap will fit well enough to not cause the check engine light to turn on.
The tether connector on the first gas tank cap that I ordered from Amazon that was supposed to fit my 2007 Chevrolet Malibu LS was too big for the connection point on the gas tank fill door. So, that gas cap had to be returned.
AGP –
Item Delivery was very late– HUGE INCONVENIENCE. Product pictured vs what was delivered is NOT THE SAME. Fit option indicates it’s a fit for my 2004 SATURN VUE V6, although the Description on the picture catalog says it fits ION. The information is confusing and product feels and behaves like it’s TOO CHEAP. THETHER is also hard to fit.
AGP –
The engine check line came on in my 2004 GMC Envoy and the code I got when I ran it was a P0455 for the evap system. The gas cap is the most common issue that causes this error and also the easiest to fix so I decided to replace the cap first.
This replacement cap fits the car perfectly. The long plastic piece that clips to the car to keep the cap from getting lost was a little hard to get into the hole it attaches to. I had to use some oil and a hammer to get it in the hole but it clipped in and is secure.
This new gas cap fixed my check engine error code, and my car is back to running well. I couldn’t be happier!
