These struts are just right for my tool box lid. They have just the right amount of give and lift. I was not super impressed with the screw on ends, they are made of a pretty cheap plastic and I wonder if they will ever strip out or if this will be the weak part of the strut. These are certainly more budget friendly struts and perhaps this is where the compromise is. They do work and the look to be well made except the ends, so I feel the price is fair for what you get and if they fail quickly, perhaps I will look to a slightly more expensive set.
