Absolutely a waste of money. Bought one to install, seemed too long. Upon installation, shifting into park, broke the clip end at the steering column. So I bought a second one to try again. Same thing. Waste of time and money. And now I’m out 50$ because who needs correct measurements anyway right?

I just found out today that this wire cable is the wrong cable I have a 2002 Tahoe and this is not the right cable for the 2002 Tahoe splits into

Installing one of these is a nightmare. The transmission end is a breeze. Breaking down the steering column, removing the old, and installing the new, is a task for even the seasoned mechanic. If you hire it done, expect to pay a lot, it is worth it.
This item fit and operates as it should. Hopefully it lasts as long as the one it replaced.

“Feels” like OEM at a good price. The rubber and shielding all feel strong and durable. You can tell the tooling is a little rough as the cast plastic pieces do have some rougher edges. Not a deterrent in functionality. For the price a little sandpaper work and good to go! The overall build quality inspires confidence and I’d recommend it.

This part cost me over 400 in labor because it did not work on my 1998 gmc 2500, Id put zero stars if I could, super disappointed in the quality and fitment

I was a professional mechanic and my girlfriend’s dad is currently a fleet mechanic and works on big rigs. This “15037353 for Chevy C1500 C2500 C3500 Automatic Transmission Gear Shift Cable” broke within a week of installing it. I’m just now getting around to doing a product review. I don’t know if I got a defective unit or what. But, buyer beware. The piece that is supposed to clip into the bracket on the transmission snapped. Not the part that snaps onto the shift lever on the transmission. The piece before it, where the cable comes out. I had to cut some of the material away with a large file and use some super heavy duty zip ties to fasten the cable to the transmission to get me back on the road. Now, I have to do the job twice and as the other in the reviews says, it isn’t the easiest thing to change. Additionally, I can’t say the Dorman unit is any better. These days they might be manufactured by the same factory. Just making people aware.
