Worked nicely to install a secondary battery in my Wrangler for accessories. The hardware is decent for the price. The terminals and cables are adequate and the cables are pretty long.
I do wish you could physically tie both batteries together at a higher amp so I could use when winching. But at 140 Amps it’s good to charge my accessory battery that I use for all the extra lights, switches, CB radio, onboard air, and a small 12v fridge.

I have a lot of DIY electrical projects. Most involve my Jeep; not only is it my toy but it’s a platform many other toys. I have LED pods, lighting strips, whip lights, a big audio system. Because of this I’ve added a battery. Big stereos need juice. I wanted an isolator so I could run my system with the engine off and not drain my main battery, so when i saw this I decided to try it.
Installation isn’t difficult. You’re just moving power cables. The only difficult part is finding a place to mount it, but it’s fairly small so even that isn’t difficult.
Isolators can be the difference between being able to start your vehicle or not. With an isolator you can run accessories like lights or stereo without fear of draining your main battery.

This battery isolator is overkill for a side by side, but it works great for us. It wasn’t too difficult to install with pretty clear instructions and almost all the materials needed are included. It lets our backup battery charge and discharge exactly as we need it to. It seems to be a good value for the price and hopefully will last.

I just picked up a starlink mini to install on my truck. The plan is to use the mini when out camping, I have a travel trailer, and I wanted to install a secondary battery just to run the starlink and not touch the main starter battery for the truck. I put in a 12V 100 ah battery tapped into the onboard inverter power supply. I was able to put this in a nice spot in the cab, close to everything it needed, and it is working great! The battery will run the starlink for days without charging the battery, but when I need to charge it, all I need to do is run or drive the truck and it will send plenty of power to the battery which has it own bms. I just got back from my first trip with it and is working perfectly!

I have been wanting to install a 2nd battery in my work van for a while but it’s a job and a half. This allows the battery to charge but use the power when it’s needed. Since commercial vans don’t have things like that warning dinging sound when you leave your headlights on, this has come in very handy more than once already. You pay more for commercial vehicles but they give you less. That never made sense to me. This should honestly Just make this a standard.

This battery isolator doesn’t work like it should.
If battery 2 dies this isolator will separate them like it should but if battery 1 dies it will not separate them. The waterproof material covers the terminals so as soon as I tighten the lugs the coating came off.
Poorly designed.

It works as I expected it to. I removed a star because the insulation on the bottom doesn’t seem adequate without me adding some kind of sealant around the wires so the picture of it underwater is deceiving. That being said, I use it inside a shed on a solar setup to keep my tractor battery or spare battery charged without impacting my inverter setup on my primary battery. This comes with almost everything you need.
