In my truck I have a few USB ports, but there was also a barrel-style lighter plug that I wanted to swap out. I removed the original lighter plug and with a couple quick snips of the existing wire had this in place. Using a USB power tester, I found all three ports provided slightly over 5 volts (5.02-5.04) which is optimal for most newer high power draw USB devices. Be aware there is a soft blue light from the outlet which is not an issue for where I mounted it but could be annoying if mounted in your line of sight while driving at night. There is also a fuse on the red power wire which could be a hassle to troubleshoot/replace depending on where you mount it. I have the wire inside a sealed dash, so am hopeful it will never need replacement but was reluctant to bypass the fuse as my experience is these type of fuses rarely go out and is no worse than most after-market stereos. I am very happy with how easily this installed and how well it is working.

Seems to be decently constructed and works as it should . Just wish it had a Voltage display for the vehicle it’s wired to. Or a low voltage indicator light to keep from draining the car battery

. My husband and I use a lot of electronic devices in our vehicles lately. And I’m sure everyone understands what that means. However the vehicle that I like to drive a lot does not come with the latest electronics or do dad’s. It’s a 1957 Thunderbird and has such I needed something where I was able to plug it in And be able to use my cords for my phone GPS or anything like that. This is very easy to install. There aren’t any directions but if you’ve ordered one you know how to install them anyway otherwise you wouldn’t be brave enough to order something that did not Come with directions. I did not have any directions in this one however it is real straightforward as I said earlier because you can match the right colors with the wiring that you are tapping into. This was mounted underneath the dash and it’s out of the way so no one knows that I have late model stuff in the car. I’m very impressed with how easy it was to install. It took my husband all of five minutes. But then again he’s not your normal Mechanic. I love this and with the three different ports it’ll be nice I especially like the fact you cover it to keep any dust or anything out of the slots. This is something that will help a lot if you need an additional port actually three ports and it’s easy to install an attractive and if you decide to install it in the dash you have plenty of room to do so. You can also just remove the cigarette lighter if there’s a cigarette lighter in the vehicle and just attach it to the lights and then in that spot accordingly.

I put this in my truck, and it has been a great addition. Installation was easy I just drilled a small hole, tightened the washer, and hooked up the terminals. Took a minute to set up! The charger is charging all three devices simultaneously really fast, which is a huge time-saver when I’m on the road. It’s great to charge my phone, GPS, and tablet simultaneously without any issues.
I especially like the blue LED light, which is convenient to locate the ports even in dim light. And the waterproof and dustproof design makes it durable even with all the weather conditions my truck is exposed to. All in all, this charger has been very convenient for long drives. It’s a good product, easy to install, and works perfectly for powering multiple devices on the move. Extremely recommend it to anyone wishing to upgrade the charging system on their vehicle!

When this arrived it was packaged well (small box with the item bagged and two long leads) and feels well made and solid. I used this to add three USB ports to one end of my camper, it installed really easily and I just tapped into the 12v line that was already there for a light. The only con I’ve found with this item is the light it emits when it has power, it’s a pretty bright blue light, but the included cover sufficiently blocks it enough if it’s bothersome.

My 2009 ford did not have a rocker style options port, so I removed the power port in center console and installed this USB port. Now I can charge 3 separate devices at once! This was a 15 minute installation, by swapping a power port, it was already fused and designated for this option, I literally added T splice connectors and left the original harness in the event I wanted to put it back. Simple Install, allows for 3 devices to charge simultaneously. Works with all Apple phones and Android.

The 12v socket on my UTV turned into a rusty, non-functioning mess so I ordered this USB Charging Socket to replace it. It fit perfectly into the existing hole and works great. I had a sprayer that plugged into the old 12v socket, so I replaced the plug with a USB connector and the sprayer works the same as it did with the old plug/socket.

This review is for the Tailinwen 12V 3 Port USB Charger.
I wanted this for a small go-box I was building for a friend. This was offered at a good price, and I decided to try a brand I was unfamiliar with.
Before I put anything in the field, I always test the components. I temporarily attached this to a 35Ah LiFePO4 battery, and used my USB test meter to see what the output was. Each of the three outputs measured between 5.04-5.09vDC. They kept bouncing between those variables, and would not settle on a stable output. This is a small enough variation that I am not too concerned.
I was pleased with the VERY firm spade connection to the base of the charger. The dimple positively engaged the hole in the base spades, and it took a very firm tug to disengage. The inline fuse is a fast blow 10a, 250v fuse. At 2.25in long, this is a somewhat longer unit. If space is at a premium, try elsewhere.
This would be a good general purpose USB charge
