This pump/filter is a replacement for the OEM one on a Onan 5500 generator. It will fit several models, but check to ensure the right fit for your genset. Per the description, it will replace all the following OEM or aftermarket parts:
– 149-2331
– 149-2333
– 149-2331-02
– 149-2331-03
– E11009
– A029F891
– A047N923
It comes with both the inline filter (small part) and the 12V pump that provides fuel to the generator. Onan typically recommends you replace the set every 250 hours, which is typically about a year for most average users. Yeah, it is nearly a consumable.
This particular one fit and seems to function fine. It was great value for the money, assuming it lasts for the 250 or so hours. Installation is a pain, due to how hard it is to get to the unit, not because of the part. It screws in place and is a single connector for the electrical once you get to it.
Make sure you have help or a hoist or similar to maintain a safe environment. A falling genset it heavy and can do a lot of damage.

I hooked this pump up to a clients generator, leaked fuel out of the pump seals(Not a Fitting) but the pump itself. Very dangerous, could start a fire in an RV. They offer NO replacement! $40 piece of Junk!!

The fuel pump gets 12 volts when the gen set is running or being primed. So the pump voltage is the critical issue. The pump grounds through its mounting pad. It maintains a steady low pressure and is self regulating. I like the screw in fuel filters but they are just fine screens not a paper element. These worked as expected. I had to put a 90 fitting in the out port of the pump but no big deal.
