Plus, the darn thing provided a very secure fit in the three lighter sockets I tried.
There is no current rating on the lighter plug. It appears to be substantial enough to handle more than 3 amps. But, that 20 gauge cable is about right for 3 amps. At 3 amps, the voltage drop in the ten feet of cable will be well under half-a-volt. At 10 amps, it would triple and the wire in the cable might not do so well due to the heat that would be generated. So, I might stretch it to 5 amps but not 10. At 5 amps, you would lose over half-a-volt in the cable due to resistance heating.
As I wrote above, this one is just as described and just what I expected.

As soon as I used it, there was a burning smell and the plastic melted. The car almost caught fire.

No extra fuses. First fuse burnt out in a month. Replacement fuse that I bought is now stuck so I have to buy a new cable.

This functioned just as hoped, giving me a 12v power source in my camper where we had installed a cigarette lighter. I needed this to use with my led strip light which required 12v power.
Can’t speak to the durability of it but I don’t have intentions to remove/plug in frequently. It has a button that you can use to turn on/off plug power if you didn’t want to unplug it.
