The SAE connector is what connects to your Battery Tender. I bought this adapter cable after the charger that came with my car failed. A new Corvette branded charger was ridiculous $ so I bought this cable to use with a Battery Tender I already have.

I use a Battery Tender on a car that isn’t driven often. But my charger has clamps to connect to the battery, so I have keep the hood open when using the charger. Now I have plenty of extra cord to run through an open window and an adapter to plug into the cigarette lighter socket. It is so much easier to use the charger without having to unlatch and open the hood and connect the clamps to the battery.
I would recommend this adapter cable for anyone who uses a battery Tender/ Float charger.

using this with a battery maintainer to keep a seldom-used car’s battery charged. I really like the LED on the lighter plug so you can tell when you’re making contact – usually have to twist it a bit to get the LED to light up in my 23 year old car.

The quality of the wire and SAE plug are good but the cigarette lighter adapter does not stay inserted in any of. my receptacles (including three different brands of power banks, a BlueSea marine receptacle, and an ARB receptacle. It works, but it barely stays inserted and any motion will cause it to come loose

I had my big old truck parked in a tight spot after winterizing it and lo and behold the battery went out and no way to get to the front of the truck to give it a jump! Fortunately I found this product and got in from the back door of the truck, plugged it in the cigarette lighter and hooked the other end up a 100 watt solar panel. Two days later when I checked the dead as a door nail battery was fully charged and I was able to start the truck trying for the first time!
If you want to use a standard solar panel hook up also get the MC4 Connecter to SAE Adapter PV Extension Cable for connecting it. If you want to keep it plugged in for trickle charging for a long time of more than a day then also connect it to a 100 watt voltage regulator connected between the solar panel and the cigarette light so you do not over charge and destroy your batter.
This little gem will stay in my tool stash for a long time and I am so glad it can be bought at such a low price with such a high quality.

I got this to use as an emergency jumper cable for a dead battery on my dirtbike. With the engine off, i plugged it into my truck’s cigarette lighter then to the quick connect on my bike’s battery. Let it charge for about 5 minutes then cranked the bike up. Hope that helps or gives you an idea on what to use it for. This is very portable and great for that emergency situation.

You have to use the adapter to get the correct polarity, and it also did not include the extra fuse.
