Approximately 3” X 5” X 1.5”, this charger has a very small footprint. It’s so lightweight, that I wondered if there was anything inside the plastic shell. (Not to worry, there is!)
This is a basic 12 volt battery (trickle) charger that is made to recharge wet cells and gel-cells – but not lithium-ion (?)
Unfortunately, my application is to recharge lithium-ion cells. Not sure why the device won’t work for these types of batteries, but I’m hesitant to ignore the manufacturer’s recommendations for fear of damaging the batteries or the charger.
Here’s what the charger will do. If your 12 volt car battery is low or needs to be maintained over a period of time when you won’t be driving your car, this will take care of it. It has three charge rates that I’ll call fast, medium, and float.
Based on the rate of charge and the small output current, I don’t see this charger being used to charge a low or nearly dead car battery. However, for a typical motorcycle battery or gel cells used to start generators, mowers, ATV’s, run toys, or other similar applications, it’s fine.
There are readouts for voltage, charge rate, battery charge level, and current flow. The battery automatically changes charging rate (from medium or top-off to float, for example). As I mentioned above, this would make an ideal float charger for a car, truck, or other 12 volt wet-cell battery if the vehicle is being stored or won’t be used for a while. Also, keep in mind that this charger will not bring a completely dead car battery back to life. The battery must retain a readable voltage before the charger will activate.
The construction is basic plastic. The DC leads have spring clamps to attach the output to the battery posts. The clamps are small and inexpensive, but they do the job.
Overall, this is a very inexpensive charger for the right application. I’m counting off one star because of the lithium-ion exclusion. I’m assuming this restriction also applies to the new family of lithium-iron batteries that are quickly replacing gel-cells – if I’m wrong, I’d appreciate the manufacturer confirming it.

Different design that definitely pushed one of my weakest 12V AGM batteries above what my other chargers could do. Seems impressive for reconditioning bad 12V AGM batteries from what I can see so far. Great buy for the price I am thinking so far. Hope lasts a while.
