These were purchased to replace the lifts on a steel cabinet lid which kept closing with the old lifts. I elected to use the 24# lifts which were heavier duty than what had been placed originally. After placing the new lift on one side of the lid, to my surprise, the lid functioned perfectly and stayed fully open. It was still easy to close so the 2nd lift is simply being held in reserve for the time when the other original lift fails. Pleasant surprise – couldn’t be happier.
Great product – fast delivery – easy to use – high quality. This lift has now been in use for several months with no loss of function. Looks like it’ll last a long time.

Just installed for the door on my truck bed shell. This was the first time I’ve replaced them. DO NOT push in the threaded ball joints it comes with. The ones already installed on my shell were the same size, and pressed in place on a bracket. I would’ve had to drill, cut and modify to use the included ball joints. They are possible to take back out but it’s easy to damage them in the process. Also, the socket portion is threaded on on both sides of the piston. The existing pistons on my shell had the same size threads, so that’s another easy way to install them if you have the same setup. If I need to replace them in the future it will take less than two minutes knowing this.
Giving five stars because they seem to work just fine, but wanted to try to save someone the hassle of making the mistake I made of immediately pushing the balls in the sockets as soon as I opened the package. I will update the rating if they don’t hold up.

My mechanics tool chest had a droopy lid for the last year or so and it was finally time to address. These struts seem of good quality and were extremely easy to install. They even came with a set up end points (nubs?) in case your existing ones are too small. It was a nice touch. I didn’t need them, however, since mine already matched the snap connectors on the struts. We’ll see if they last longer than the last set. Hopefully, I’ll remember to update at some point later.

Had to drill out the holes bigger on the canopy for 2 missing ball studs as the original ones were smaller on the threaded end. The other 2 original canopy studs popped right into the struts like they belong there. Other than that they are doing the job just fine for a raider canopy on a 11 F150.
