This is sech a simple but useful item. I had 3 car radios I needed to test and using this to power them allowed me to get all three tested in about 10 min. I simply uses a double ended alligator clip to connect the power wires to this and test them for power. The LED light on the plug let me know I was delivering power and made if simple to test all three and sell them as units that power up.
I have added a 12V lamp to this and now have a nice work light for my cars.
The built in fuse makes this a good option if you are looking to power a 12V device with your car.

I picked this up to try as it looked like it was heavy duty. It has a nice solid cigarette lighter plug that was a nice snug fit in the three sockets I tried. It has a red LED to let you know that it is making contact ok once plugged in. The unit has an inline fuse holder and comes with a 20A and a 30A ATC type blade fuse. Most cigarette lighter sockets do not go above 10-15 amps at the most, so consider using a lower amperage fuse in the holder to protect your device using this cable. I tried to run a 8 amp draw from two way VHF radio and used a 10 amp fuse. It worked fine. The 12 gauge wires which were a bit over 3 feet long were good for this purpose. It’s nice to have real 12 gauge wires as opposed to the 18-20 gauge wires we often see on cables of this type. All in all, I think this is a nice cable and should serve you well. Just keep in mind your power requirements in amps and fuse accordingly.

Works as desired giving an easy plugin/fusible disconnect option.

I’m using this on some solar equipment to plug into a DC car charger port and then connect to my DC loads. This seems of good quality and its pretty thick cable. Just be aware that there are two fuses for it. There’s the blade style, and these are the common size that you can get at any big box store. And there’s also the cylindrical fuse style that is typically in a car adapter. I believe this is a 15A. But the blade style fuses are 20A and 30A. That is way too much for this size cable, and it is way too much for the 15A fuse. So throw those away and get some smaller blade fuses (like 10A)

This is a great value and reliable charging cable.

We live off grid and have added a diesel heater to help heat our cozy little cabin. If you aren’t familiar with diesel heaters, they require a 12V or 24V input power to operate. We have been using a battery and a harness using alligator clips to run power to the diesel heater but that turned out to be unsafe. When the battery ran out, the heater started overheating and smoking as the fan suddenly stopped blowing air to take the heat away. Luckily I was there and had a backup battery to quickly replace the dead battery or something bad could have happened.
Now with this cigarette lighter (power point) plug I can use a Jackery power bank to run the heater. It has a constant 12V port to plug in and has larger power capacity than the battery. It also shows the state of charge with just a push of a button. That is handy!
The price of this item, about $10, seems high to me for what it is but it is convenient to not have to make it myself. Plus the fact that the cable is fused and even comes with a spare 20A and 30A set of fuses. So then the parts will cost over five bucks – my time is worth more than that.
It works just fine for what I need it for.

Ordered this for my JD2025R tractor. I’m adding a led 12vdc light for the back of my tractor. I will connect this cigarette lighter cable to its power cord as I have a 12vdc lighter receptacle mounted in the fender to power up the light. Sometimes we work after dark, and this light will come in handy for seeing behind us while hooking trailers, wood splitter, or backhoe, etc.
