My conventional system seemed to test fine, but didn’t work. I think the condenser is bad. I had read about electronic ignition for a while, so I decided to try one. It works fine. Make sure it is wired correctly, as connecting it backwards will destroy the unit.
I set the timing statically, then checked it with a timing light. I also checked the total advance at 3000rpm.

installed it in my Baja. adjusted timing fired up and runs smoother other one must have been weak had for 8 years never ran this good

This is nice, and it worked well for about 3 months, excelent ride, made the car work great, but then the ignition module burned leaving me with my broken vw beetle on the highway at 5am.
To fix it I bought the replacement ignition module and lasted for about 3 months again. I bought another replacement module and it was defective, didn’t work when installed.
I’d buy them again, if it was cheaper and didd’t break every 3 months.
