Easy for the DIY and makes a huge difference in my 03 Odyssey’s ride. Just watch the various You tube video’s which show you exactly how to get it done. It you need to change out the lower control arm bushings, recommend just getting a lower control arm with all new bushing already installed. The replacements bushings are inexpensive, but a real PIA to remove and reinstall.

I ordered both sides but only one was delivered. I don’t understand why can’t they arrive together. I give the product 5 stars but 3 for not sending them both at the same time.

I got 2002 Honda Odyssey EX and it was running good before I had installed this strut and coil assembly. Once i did change on the front both side and trouble began. My car pulling to the right side while driving and one four set tires worn out. I installed all four michelin tire.then i had wheel alignment twice which came out normal and i did rotate tire to rule out the tire problem. but still it is pulling to right no matter what i do. I wish i should have bought honda strut and coil.I am still searching the answer of this problem…..

I ordered this item together with its front mate(171598) and rear shocks(load adjusting #58645) to replace the original suspension system of my 2002 Honda Odyssey mimivan. The replacement was done @ 130,000 miles.
These new shocks were a joy. It brought back the TOUT handling of my van just like when we bought it in 2002, and even BETTER- the rear load adjusting shocks always kept the van ON-LEVEL; even if we are fully loaded on our Thanksgiving trip to and from Vegas. The van never “squatted”, unlike when it was brand new and had the original suspension. A nice offshoot of this is that the headlight beams are always on the road and not lighthing up the sky. Total mileage on our trip was 1,200 mile.
And one last thing, the prices at Amazon. com are 15% less than the lowest brick and mortar parts store, no tax and free shipping. The savings I got covered 50% of the installation and realignment. Total bill was $100 less than what Sears, Big O Tires quoted.

I used this strut on my 2002 Honda oddessey and it was great. Easy to install and fit like factory. The only problem I have is that in the add it does not specify that this strut is only for passenger side and being this is the first time I have had to do this I ordered two thinking they are the same for both sides. When I finally had time to install these I was left sitting with only one useful strut and now not able to return so this is very disappointing. I would think that someone would question why a individual would buy two the same and not ask the question are you sure you want two the same or are you looking for one for each side prior to sending out. So with that I’m not giving 5 star.

I put these in our van a year ago. The have worked well so far. Although it will take about 5 more years before I know if they were really good. Getting the spring and strut together is easier if you do not have the equipment to compress the spring safely. I do not have the equipment so I got these with the spring already installed. Not hard to install. Just watch the videos on youtube to see how.

I just installed these for a 2003 Honda Odyssey. These are the Monroe sensa-trac quick struts. It was a breeze. took me 2.5 to 3 hours to do both front with new stabilizer links and brake pads. If you can afford the extra money, I would recommend these. Saves alot of time and you have the added safety of not removing the springs. You also get new springs and top hat which has a bushing in it. The ride is definitely improved, although improved is defined differently for each of us. It is firmer, but not in a bad way. It takes small bumps alot better. The big bumps or potholes have always been bad for Odyssey’s, that hasn’t changed. There is less body roll and it seems the road noise has improved, maybe having to do with all new parts in the assembly.
Seriously, its 5 bolts, then the brake line (it unbolts and slides out so you don’t have to bleed them) then the stabilizer bar link and it’s out. Do the reverse and buy a cheap torque wrench from harbor freight tools. The only thing about the Odyssey was looking for a 22mm wrench and socket, but that was a quick trip to SEARS and then I returned them right afterwards (I know that’s not right, but I did buy some other tools when I returned them).
Remember to replace the stabilizer bar links while you are in there. You have to remove one side anyways and they are really cheap.
Hope this helps
Update 06/16/2013 25,000 miles
The ride has not changed much from new. It does seem to chatter a little more than new over rough roads (rebound dampening not holding as well), but still takes the small bumps well. Its been hard to tell more from it since my wheel bearing is starting to humm. I am still pleased with this product and would recommend over dealer prices. Only thing is I think the original spring is a better product, especially with chattering this has started to develope.

These were replacements for the originals on our 2004 Honda Odyssey with 150000 mi. The ride is much improved; it is nice and smooth on most surfaces. There is some chatter off road or on very choppy roads which I did not notice with the originals.
(It is hard to tell because our van had the notorious “caliper clunk” as well, which is common on the odyssey and caused obnoxious clunking sounds from the front end over even the slightest road bumps. The fix was to replace only the front caliper mounting brackets and guide pins. Keeping the same calipers means no bleeding the brakes. Fixing the calipers was the best improvement we made to this van since we bought it.)
Back to these shocks, they were easy to install, with help from u-tube. Note that the top mount bolts are soft metal and only require 35 foot pounds of torque. They will snap if over-torqued, trust me….

By now you’ve read all the other reviews and know that this is a great quality product. You probably also saw the the customer uploaded picture showing the strut poking out of the box. I guess Amazon saw the picture too, so if your main concern about buying this product from them is shipping/packaging quality then don’t worry. I ordered mine on a Sunday evening and received the two fronts and rears the following Tuesday. The struts came in an outer Amazon shipping box padded with ample brown paper in addition to the retail box. This is my first review on Amazon and I thought I would do it since I saved over $300 on my suspension by buying from them instead of my local O’Reilly or Autozone.
