Ok, ordered this on Monday. Wife was leaving for work when she discovered her drivers side window wouldn’t roll up. She parked the van and stole…err borrowed my jeep to get to work. I youtube’d a video on how to R^2 the window regulator and started taking the door apart. The old one came out fairly easy. The part arrived on Wednesday at around 4:30 pm. I had it installed in the door within 20 minutes out of the box. Amazing design by Honda? Some guy who knows a guy who works for Honda…maybe? Anyhow…be careful putting the door panel back in, lots of stuff to consider, wiring bundles, heated seat connector, speaker housing grommets, etc. took me a few tries, but I got it all back together. I recommend this and doing it yourself if you have an issue with your window rolling up or down.

For some unknown reason, it is not easy to find a drivers side power window regulator assembly for a Honda Odyssey. Passenger window? No Problem! But not the driver side. My son is a manager of a well known auto parts store, and even he could not get one for me. Thanks Amazon! This saved me a lot of money, as it was about half of what the dealership wants. The installation went smoothly as the unit is an exact match to the original, and I have a friend who is an excellent mechanic! There are no instructions included, however, so it helps if you have some experience with this type of window assembly. It has been working smoothly and efficiently. Now all it has to do is stand the test of time. So far, so good.

When I heard a big bang and the drivers window collapsed on me I thought that was the last straw for my 2003 Odyssey since it was worth less than $1K and already had a bevy of problems. After doing some simple research on-line I found my problem was likely an inexpensive window regulator. I had one replaced previously by a dealer at considerable expense but when I realized it was the labor they were gouging me on I decided to try to fix myself and bought this regulator. Plenty of DIY videos available to help. Probably took me 2 or 3 times as long as the dealer to replace but that’s because I’m a “measure 4 times cut once” person when doing something myself for the first time. The part was easy to install following the video and fit perfect. Drivers window operation is back to normal.

No window install is “easy” for the average weekend “mechanic,” but with a little effort and patience, this unit works as promised. The biggest help for these type projects is finding a video that comes as close to the mode or your vehicle. Take it one step at a time and carefully place each screw removed out o the way… and walk the process back in reverse upon completion of the install.
Our drivers side power window motor (for our 2003 Honda Odyssey) finally bit the dust. This replacement motor and regulator works! And now my wife is happy.🙂

So far so good. Installation was straight forward. It took until the next day for it to learn to auto up or down. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the window doesn’t travel all the way down, leaving a a few mm of window exposed above the weather stripping at the aft edge of the window. Not quite perfect but not enough to worry about.

Unlike the example in the video, my car has three phillips head screws around the speaker mounting area that had to be removed in order to take the door panel off. I took the speaker out too, but it wasn’t necessary. I just didn’t want to risk damage.

This is an inexpensive alternative to OEM. Was easy enough to install and I was a happy camper for a while. Unfortunately, it only lasted about 2 years before it stopped working. I had hoped it would last longer.
