After my first fill-up, I realized how silly it was that the ’23 Tacoma doesn’t come with a gas cap holder. After looking, I found this one that fits the bill and is sure to last for a while. I’m impressed with the build quality and the ease of installation. I had it installed within five minutes of opening the package, even though it was pitch black outside. It looks great and does an excellent job of holding the cap instead of resting against the body. Overall, I would definitely buy it again.

This fit my wife’s 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR5 perfectly, and she says she thinks of me every time she stops for gas! Why this isn’t standard equipment from the factory is beyond me.
The factory screw was on tight and required my trusty impact driver to remove, but once that was done, installation was a breeze. I went with the aluminum model, and the gas cap drops right in with zero effort. It took less than 60 seconds to install and is completely secure.
It looks awesome, functions perfectly, and is an incredibly inexpensive upgrade. Between the looks, ease of installation, and functionality—this one scores 100%. Plus, I definitely earned some husband bonus points!

Didn’t know these little buggers existed. Glad to know now. Easy install, except for the stubborn screw that took some torque to remove from the gas tank door. Works perfectly to hold the gas cap and prevents it from touching the car. Got the aluminum option and love its quality and fit. Cool little upgrade for very little cost.

BOTTOM LINE: One of the easiest items to install you’ll ever order. Back out the OEM screw that holds your Taco fuel hatch lock, fit the JOYTUTUS gas cap holder to the inner hatch frame, along the right side (it has slots to hold it firmly in place); align the hole in the left side of the JOYTUTUS gas cap holder to the hatch lock screw hole, reinstall & tighten the OEM screw… and you’re done!
THOUGHTS: This JOYTUTUS gas cap holder is really nice; it’s made from a solid piece of aluminum that’s powder coated with an even flat black finish.
I’ve always tried to hook the plastic “cord” thingy of my Taco gas cap into the factory hatch spring hooks, but it occasionally slips out, dropping down against the side of the bed, sometimes swinging back & forth. YIKES! Hate it when that happens; always worried it will scratch the factory paint! Not a worry anymore; the JOYTUTUS gas cap holder has threads that allow you to semi-screw your gas cap into the holder, so it cannot pop out. It’s actually quite robust; smacking it with my hand and jiggling the truck bed up & down would not dislodge the gas cap from this nifty little holder. Fuel hatch opens & closes normally after installation with no fitment issues whatsoever. Nice!
This is a very easy HIGH RECOMMENDATION if you’re concerned about keeping your Tacoma looking good. It’s a 2-minute no-brainer install …and stout enough to last the life of the vehicle.

This was such a nice little upgrade to my Tacoma. It was easy to install (once I blasted everything with WD-40 to loosen it up) and fit perfectly. It’s such a useful yet inexpensive (but quality) accessory you can add to your truck.

I would give this 5 stars if the gas cap actually fit the product. It’s still useful for for the price you would think it would be a good fit. Build quality is good. It did have an easy of installation but the functionality suffers. Seems like it needs to be a big bigger.
