I have waited for two and half years to write this review, I have 2004 GMC Yukon, and got these because the old one were not able to hold the weight of the tailgate anymore, and yes they worked, and they are very easy to install. however, owing to the old model, the lift were very strong against the rear window and in about couple months they ripped off the hinges from the car body (as other have posted as well) and I woke up that morning a hanging window on my car, the cheapest solution for me was to remove the lift and seal the window so I cannot use the rear window access anymore. The tailgate is fantastic and have been serving great until this time.
