Does not fit easily in 2004 volvo. The lanyad bind around the cap

They sent me a tether for a 2003-2010 V70, which has a larger diameter gas cap than my 2016 XC60. There are no dimensions provided in the listing, so unable to check before ordering. And the ring and tether are cast from one piece of hard plastic, so the tether is too short and inflexible to work anyway.

Nothing is more frustrating than ordering an item that says it’s a specific fit for your car make and model, and finding out that it doesn’t fit after all! The cord that holds my gas cap to the gas tank cover recently snapped, so I ordered this one as a replacement. It does not fit! I tried bending the piece and trying to fit it over the existing gas cap from multiple directions, and nothing seem to work. On top of that, the cord is made of hard plastic, and I can’t imagine that that is going to have the flexibility or elasticity that it needs to stretch and rebound and hold up overtime. Overall, I think this is a poor design, and clearly not an OEM Volvo product match.

Fits over 07 XC70 gas cap, but it’s very tight fit. Much tighter than the OEM ring.
The cable is also quite stiff and does cause the fuel door to improperly lock sometimes.
The hole for the door hook also needs to be enlarged to properly attach to the fuel door.

Arrived with the gas cap cover snapped in the manufacturers packaging, which was torn open and an SKU label placed over the tear. This shows that the gas cap attachment was shipped to me broken prior to leaving the wherehouse. Unacceptable quality control!
