these are a great value and perfect for my needs. I wanted to add a port in the back of my trunk area and this worked great. love that it has a cover to protect the port when not in use. Easy to install and good quality.

Clarification. This is not the threaded nut design. This is the little clippy design, for a cigarette lighter. I have a 4runner and it only comes with 1 cigarette lighter socket. I needed to install an additional socket, so I can run my dash cam and my phone charger at the same time. So I drilled a custom hole with a 1 inch spade bit (and reamed it out to fit with a razor knife) into the passenger side of the shifter cover, near the cup holder, as seen on the internet, if you keyword this.
The wires are long and thick so they are good wires that wont cause an issue. that little clippy lets it pop in and out of the hole to easily get rid of this, if you need to do maintenance. The eyes on the ends of the cable I had to cut off so I could piggy back this off of the wires designated for the other cigarette lighter. It works good, now and looks like a quality install.
OH ALSO: the fuse for “cigarette lighter” is actually the cigarette lighter in the trunk. The fuse for the front cigarette lighter in the 4runner is “accessory fuse” This one was a real head scratcher. Since I cooked off a fuse while wiring this. From working on it in key on.

I’m glad I got 2 of these in the pack. I got one hooked up and when I plugged a cord in it was pretty wobbly, not holding the plug securely at all. It moved around enough that the connection was sporadic. I swapped it out for the other and it was better.

Quick Update: So I took it apart to try to fix the issue. Found out that the bottom broke off so there’s no good permanent solution. Still works but now I just have to be extra cautious when inserting and removing devices.
Works fine. Easy and very simple install. Not much to it. Only issue is that the internal metal sleeve would dislodge and slide down when inserting a DC plug into it. If it slides down too far then it would stop working due to lack of contact. I have to use my fingers or pliers to pull the sleeve back up. I’m sure I can fix the issue but I’m too lazy to take everything apart again.

I recently got another Ford Maverick; these are great trucks. They come with a proprietary 12v power outlet in the bed; you can purchase the end that mates with the plug on this site. The base model of the Maverick comes with plastic block-off plates over holes meant for accessories in other models. You can use the block-off plates as a custom power center for 12v appliances like a travel fridge or a small inverter to power battery chargers for portable tools. When you do this, you need 12v power adaptors like the product I ordered, the subject of this review.
These are good little plugs; they are well-built with decent wire and in-line fuses. I began making my custom power center. I laid out the holes, and then I pilot-drilled them to keep my bigger bit from “walking.” I used a 1 1/8 bit, which is the perfect size for this chore. Once the holes were drilled, I installed the plugs; they snugged down very well with locking rings. I have no concerns about them loosening. They are easy to install if you do the layout properly. It was time to wire.
This is where I ran into trouble, and it’s why I knocked a star off an otherwise good review. The boots on the female socket plugs seem to be protected by shrink tubing; they are not. By the time I realized this, I’d already wired the harness, and it would have been a pain to take everything back apart. Therefore, I had to wrap them with electric tape. It would have been a better job if I’d known up front that I needed to replace the blue sleeves with shrink wrap.
However, these are still great plugs. Of course, I tested them at the end of the process. They worked well, and I liked the very positive rubber caps. If you do this with care, this set of plugs allows for a factory-installed look and excellent functionality. You can buy these with confidence, but be sure to replace the included wire plug boots with shrink wrap.
