If you’re buying this for the forward reverse gearbox you have to sand down the shaft of the gearbox since it’s slightly oversized and sand a ton off the key that comes with the gearbox. I had two of these, one was under saltwater for a long duration of time and still works fine. To sand down the gearbox put the nut on top and use an impact with a 1/4 adapter to spin it quick while holding sandpaper on the gearbox shaft. Once you’re done it should slide in easily with no resistance. Don’t force it or getting it back off is a pain! Best of luck!

I really like this part . The only thing I find that I don’t like is the sharp edges. But nothing a small file or some sand paper can’t handle. I will order more of them

Product works but requires tooling to fit. You will need to file the key slot and the bore to fit your driven shaft. For the fitment process I used a 1/2″ bastard file, some 120grit aluminum oxide sandpaper I had lying around and a 1/4″ round file. The keyway took about 50 passes on each edge with the bastard file making sure not to dig into the bottom or the top of the shaft, I would stop after a few passes each time to see if my key fit. After the key way was sized correctly, I cut a strip of the sandpaper and ran it through the keyway a few times to polish it a bit. I then cut a strip of sandpaper and wrapped it around my round file (you could use a stick or anything round and straight) and ran it though the shaft to open up the bore to fit my shaft. The best method it turns out was to just hold the file and paper and simply spin the clutch by hand a few hundred rotations to get it to size; remember to flip the clutch each time you check size to make sure you are sanding evenly on both ends of the bore. If you have boring tools those will work, if you don’t you need to come up with something creative and easy like I did. The process took about an hour to complete and the driven clutch now fits my shaft correctly. If you have a 5/8″ shaft, do not expect this to fit without some modifications, and do not force it on; shave it down, try the fit, shave it more until it goes on smooth but not loose. -1 star for requiring modifications to fit. The issue seems to be the clutch shaft is very close to 5/8″ but you can not fit a 5/8″ bore on a 5/8″ shaft because they are the exact same size, the bore needs to be 1/32″ bigger than 5/8″ to go over the shaft; so technically the product description is correct, but your shaft needs to be smaller than a true 5/8″ or the bore size needs to be increased. I hope this helps anyone who needs this item, kick up some dirt for me!

Had to tweak the inside dimensions by light filing and sanding. Their 5/8ths and my 5/8ths weren’t the same. But, once it was smoothed out, it worked great.

The inside diameter of the shaft hole is too small, about .20 too small, must have been made to a metric dimension. Had to file it out to make it fit.
Other than that, it works fine.
