It’s nice to have a universal joint extension that stays in position while maneuvering the socket into position onto the nut or bolt or hex head screw without the socket mis-positioning and making it difficult to seat the socket onto the fastener . Have only tried it once so far but it worked as advertised . I do expect it last and always work . Quarter inch drive tools don’t take the punishment that 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive tool do usually so I expect this swivel extension will last for some time . I would not use it with an impact however . It isn’t impact rated and you couldn’t expect something like this to withstand the shock and torque of an impact however. It’s meant for tedious and precise work to make work easier .

Unlike a regular universal, this one doesn’t flop to one side while trying to locate a bolt head. It has some kind of elastomeric to keep it mostly straight. I used the 1/4 drive model for small bolts in a deep extended reach.
