This is the second time that I’m purchasing this item. The first one worked well. Ordered the second one. As soon as I installed it, it broke. As you can see in the photo. Will I purchase it again?. I guess this one had a manufacturer defect. Had to replace the old one until I can get a new replacement.

Wow….These worked fantastic on my Acura RL to restore transmission shift responsiveness. I wasn’t even showing any error message or codes, but changing these out definitely eliminated the small hesitations I was experiencing where the transmission was hunting for gears, and downshifting slowly. Now there is a much smoother delivery of power because the transmission shift more quickly to the gear it needs. This eliminates over compensation by the engine to keep the car at speed when freeway driving or driving on hills. Around town casual shifting is smoother in all gears now as well. I replaced all 3 of these listed for my model. In short, they make my car shift like it did when it was new again.

Trust me, this is INCREDIBLY easy and will absolutely solve your shifting problems.
SYMPTOMS
Hesitant/stubborn shifting
Green “D” light flashes
Trouble codes P1739 & P1839
Lurching/shuttering at highway speeds
HOW-TO
1. Raise TL from driver side (I used the pinch weld just behind the front wheel)
2. Remove front wheel
3. Carefully pry the plastic locking pin from the wheel well splash guard (located about the 11 o’clock position)
4. Pull down on splash guard flap and tuck it under the wheel hub
[4TH GREAR SWITCH]
5. Squeeze & pull off the connecting wiring harness
6. Using a 22mm ratcheting/boxed wrench, slip it over the existing switch and break it loose (the switch should spin out easily)
7. Making sure to use the included washer, screw in the new switch and tighten it down with the wrench
8. Reattach the wiring harness
[3RD GEAR SWITCH]
8. Using a 10mm socket and extensions, remove the 2 bolts holding the sensor cover hiding the 3RD gear switch
9. Trace that sensor cover down to a third bolt and remove that using a 10mm ratcheting wrench (DO NOT mix these up)
10. Pull that sensor cover away just enough to reach behind it, pop off the wiring harness from the existing switch
11. Finagle a 22mm deep well socket behind the sensor cover and slip it over the existing switch
12. Using the appropriate socket wrench, apply pressure and break it loose from the transmission
13. Before spinning it completely out, have the new sensor and washer readily available (a minimal amount of fluid will leak from this switch port, do the faster you can plug it with the new part the less you’ll loose)
14. Making sure to use the included washer, screw in the new switch and tighten it down with the socket wrench
15. Reattach the wiring harness
Now would also be an ideal time to get a transmission flush & fill if you haven’t had one in a while.
I have to give credit to YouTube user “fabolousg4ever”. I probably wouldn’t have attempted this had it not been for his video “Acura tl transmission pressure switch tutorial”.

I was skeptical that a $25 sensor from China would actually work. Car has 240k and was shifting hard for a while. On top of that it recently started having a flashing drive light. Lots of people saying it needed a transmission.
Well through digging I found this part and it was easy to install on an 02 crv. Turn the wheels left, reach in on the left side and remove the shields. You can then fit a 22mm socket or wrench in then fit it. Less than an hour job.
After disconnecting battery and test driving it, it had a few hard shifts then immediately cleared up. Car drives like it has far less than 241k in it.
Can’t recommend it enough. If anything changes I’ll be sure to update this review.

I installed this due to P0845 code that indicates a bad 3rd gear clutch sensor on my 2003 Honda CRV. The original one that I took out didn’t have any type of washer on it but the new one came with one. It was a thick washer, thicker than I thought necessary, but I used it anyway. After about a month the flashing D and the code came back. Out of curiosity, I removed the washer and reinstalled this sensor and haven’t had any recurrence of the flashing D or code. In my opinion, the washer is not needed. With it, the sensor doesn’t go into the transmission housing as deep as the original sensor and that may be an issue that some have been having if they have had a “short” life span from their new sensor. I know that washers serve a purpose, but there wasn’t a washer on the original sensor, so that is the reason for my telling you, “if this sensor seems to fail quickly having used the washer, you might try it without the washer before you claim that the sensor is at fault”.

Good price.

Easy to install, fits 2003 Honda CRV perfect. The blinking drive light stopped immediately after installation.

Just what I needed. Has detailed instructions with torque specs. Much cheaper than OEM but same quality part. Also very easy to install. Took me 30 minutes to swap both 3rd and 4th gear sensors.
