- Prevents overheating, reducing elevated operating temperatures up to 40 degrees Farenheit – Optimizes total transmission performance
- Eliminates transmission fluid foaming and oxidation and reduces wear throughout the transmission
- Eliminates clutch chatter and torque converter shudder; Softens and modifies harsh shifts making them quicker in duration
- Extends fluid life / Raises the thermal and oxidative stability of the fluid
- Only protectant that increases the fluid’s ability to transfer heat / Protects new seals and permanently restores older seals to a like-new condition, without adverse side effects

If you have a GM 4T65E transmission, this is magic in a bottle for you. No more “bump” on take off. They recommend a 10oz bottle. Forget that, use the entire quart. I removed one quart and replaced it with this stuff, and within a few days, the transmission started shifting like new, and has remained so 15,000 miles later. I recently did a “fluid-exchange” and put in another quart to be sure. I highly recommend this stuff for any GM transmission that is acting funky. It did wonders for me. I’ve used it now on 3 different vehicles (all GM), and the results have magical. Get it. You won’t be disappointed.

Since I put this in my transmission it hasn’t slipped. Great product.

My 2002 gm vehicle with 3400 v6 and 4T65E trans had around 225k miles on and in warm weather the trans started shifting super firm, this was due to a design flaw and wear. What happens is the computer sees some shifts are too slow, which causes it to trip into max-adapt mode which dramatically increases line pressure. Generally this can be corrected by installing a transgo shift kit or similar. However my fluid was changed only 15k miles before, and I decided try lubegard red first and had good success, haven’t detected any hard shifts since.

I have used this in a 2015 Suburban with 195k miles – a fluid change with filter and this Lube Gard has the transmission working much better and no more studder. It will extend the life before I need to rebuild the transmission.
Also tried it on my Honda Odyssey – with erratic shifting. Did fluid change and Lube Gard and it’s now shifting crisp again. 198k miles.
Very pleased.

Lubegard Red is one of very few ATF additives to get OEM recommendations, so I trust it to, at worst, do no harm, and potentially help keep my transmission shifting well. I wouldn’t expect miracles, but other than dirty fluid, my trans had no symptoms of wear or age. After draining and replacing about half the fluid (the rest is held in the torque converter, and will be changed out slowly over a few more drain and fills), and adding 1 ounce of Lubegard per quart of fluid, I think the shifts are a little smoother, and possibly a little faster under acceleration, but it’s hard to say. That makes me happy, as it implies nothing was amiss before the drain and fill.

2008 Impalas trans (4T65E) was intermittently holding second gear from a stop for a moment then would drop back down to 1st gear. Was harsh if stepping on throttle a fair amount. I changed fluid and filter and added 14 ounces of Lube Guard. Had same issue on first move down road after adding, obviously took time to do its magic and hasn’t done it once since in 1500 miles! Truly worked. Worth a try. This transmission wasn’t in bad shape, wasn’t slipping, fluid wasn’t burnt, pan had normal debris on magnet and 120000 miles.
Update: 04/12/25 Changed fluid and filter at 150000 miles last Summer and added 7 more ounces of Lubeguard. Perfect! Worth every penny!
