Installing these took quite a bit of work but all in all really happy with the result. If your truck is from a cold climate where the roads are salted the grinder is your best friend. As these some with the mounting hardware I found it easier to cut the old bolts off the old struts and use the new hardware provided. Some people have stated these raised their truck 1 inch, I found the opposite. The factory struts were 1/2inch higher than these so my truck actually dropped by a 1/2inch once I installed these. Not a big deal since I run recommended tires on my truck.

Price was very affordable. Fit perfectly on the front of our 2012 Ford F-150 XLT 4wd. Install time was about 45 minutes per side. Looks identical to OEM. Please note that I am an above average do it yourselfer. The ride is very nice and comfortable.

Fit my 3011 F-150 without issue. Even with a 2.5” Auto Spring leveling kit. Disconnected upper ball joint and steering arm. Removed breaks as I was installing new ones anyhow. Disconnected front drive shaft from hub to allow total access. Old broken ones removed simple enough and the new ones went in fine although had to use a pro at slightly to get threads to grab on the upper ball joint. Only negative thing is the units are made in China. Detroit Axel needs to change the name to China Axel.

Great value, ready to put on. No need to remove the coils from the old shocks and put on the new.
Fits very nicely 👌 thanks –
Was just what I needed thanks

1. I have a 2013 F150 3.5 crew cab,
2. Even with using coil spring compressor clamps which they say you dont need, we had to disconnect nearly the entire axle assembly and needed a large hammer and a pry bar to drive the lower end into the lower mount. The lower mount is not a slide in, it is a socket.
3. They need to partially collapse the spring and hold it with steel bands until it is installed as the length that is shipped is way too long for the space available.
4. It took us 4 hours to install the first one. This is unacceptable.
5. Now that it is installed when bouncing the front end the unit squeeks.

I have purchased several drive items from Detroit Axle over the years and they never disappoint. Great replacement for OEM and Much less expensive than local parts store.
