Quality is Amazing, Great Value for money. The inside and outside of the cap is very precisely machined!!
I have to inform you I haven’t tried to install yet. Will update afterwards. I got two because the cap is supposed to be the same as the Frame Mounted Fuel Filter ( Re: Some Reddit Post), which I stripped using the correct size socket (36mm) with a half inch ratchet. Chanel locks didnt break it all the way loose either. Gonna try PB Blaster and an oil filter wrench next. I’ll update and let you know if it works and doesn’t leak. I will be using Blue Monster thread tape and Blue Monster Pipe Sealent, or plumbers silicone grease for lubricant on the tape. I’m a plumber and it’s what I do for metal threads. ( Can’t Help Myself 😉 ) If it don’t reach very hot temps I think it will be fine, and as long as I don’t use it on the first couple sets of threads and just do it on the last ones it should work out.

It fit like it was intended to. Only advice would be to replace the Oring with a quality one from an actual Motorcraft filter. Otherwise you will end up dumping a quart and a half in a neat little trail that leads right to your parking spot when the ring that comes on it fails.

After installing this new cap with a new OEM filter and priming my truck, it started up and ran fine for two miles. Then fuel starvation and full stop. Prime and start again for only a short drive and again, engine shut down. After replacing the filter with another new one (thinking a filter problem), tried to run again with same result. Three times inspecting and replacing with two additional new oem filters. Did not have any external leak. Finally figuring the only change in my filter change process was the new cap, I replaced the new cap with the old OEM cap and then the truck ran fine. I am speculating that the aluminum cap fails to make a good/solid seal at the O-ring connection and/or I just had a defective cap? The Old OEM cap is rubbery so the seal against the O ring tightens down to where you almost cannot see the O ring making for an air tight seal. Not sure why this new after market cap didn’t work. I do know that the cap Looks impressive, feels great and I sure wish it had worked. I certainly gave it my best shot after reinstalling it several times. This was a huge disappointment and took many hours of time, effort and three filters before figuring out the problem was with the cap. Perhaps I just had a defective cap. As I said, most disappointing.
