It assembled in about a min.
Pulling on it, it was secure. I think the gator jaws are just long enough for my 2014 Ford Fusion vents.
It held my 6.6″ x 3.2″ phone case securely.
It did move a little bit on rough roads but hey, welcome to Michigan. I think that’s partly the vent it’s attached to.
I like the way the button on the back releases the phone.

The phone mount works very well, holds my phone without moving or vibrating, and is easy to mount or release the phone with one hand. There is one exception, however: the vane gripper is too short for my vehicle so eventually the mount can “walk” off the vane unless I remember to re-mount it occasionally. See the current ad (“2023 Upgraded” mount). The 4th photo shows 2 ways the mount will “Not grip”; one of them being the grippers not reaching to behind the vane. Yet the ad doesn’t tell you what the maximum length is so you can measure your car’s vent-vanes to see of this mount will fit properly. Mine, unfortunately, doesn’t. Maybe the “2023 Upgraded” mount would fit better than my current one, but like the first one I’d have to buy a new one to find out. I will say that it is still usable. I just have to re-tighten it every so often, or, forgetting to do that, to re-mount it when it walks.

I have had several different brands and types of car phone holders in my life, some of them good and some of them terrible. I can say that this is one of the best and potentially the best car phone holders I have ever used. The vent clamp is nearly universal in that it fits nearly any car vent regardless of configuration or size. My vent “fins” are too long/deep for most of the “hook style” holders, but the clamp on this one grabs tightly to the fin. It also has good supports on the top and bottom that rest against the other fins or dash inlay. For me, the clamp holds the mount solid with virtually no movement at all even on the roughest roads and shows no risk of breaking the vent fins.
Also, the release button is located on the bottom of the mount for easy access when removing the phone. The spring inside the side clamps that hold the phone in the mount is nice and strong so that the mount releases the phone quickly when the button is pushed. Some other holders I have used go sooooo slooooow! This one is open in less than a second in any temperature.
I would highly recommend this vent mounted phone holder if you’re looking for one!

The best phone holder of all time. I purchased this phone holder about three years ago and have never had any issues. I recently had to purchase a new one not cause I had any problems but because I accidentally left it in a family member’s car. It is so easy to use and is the strongest out there. If you’re looking for a simple but long lasting phone holder this is the one for you. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I bought three of these and all three worked great until all three broke. The good part is that they securely hold on to the cellphone over a wide range of cellphone sized. The bad part is that the fingers that hold onto the ball mount all broke off. So if you have it mounted and working, you may be OK. But if you ever unscrew fully the locking nut over the ball joint, the fingers may fall out.

The locking fingers broke because the vent clamp would come loose requiring that I remove the holder from the clamp to reset the clamp position. Then after repeated actions, the fingers would break.
Solution: I bought new phone holders and epoxied the clamp to the vent. So I’ll add a couple of stars, since the holder itself is great.

it’s pretty good, sturdy, and holds my phone well i have an iphone xr nothing crazy but it has some weight to to it so 10/10 for me
