I had been looking for a phone mount since realizing that I needed to put the phone somewhere when it was not charging. I’d seen mounts like this in the past, but never did pull the trigger on one until this. Do not regret one bit!
I will say, setting this in the right position did take a few tries. The little grip holds can shift a little as you tighten the device to the back of the monitor. This becomes particularly problematic because the magnet holding the phone in places is REALLY strong – meaning you might end up adjusting the position of the mount a little trying to remove the phone. On one hand, the phone is not going anywhere once it’s attached. Unfortunately, the rest of the device might. However, once you master the attachment process, that becomes a non issue.
The mount has a rubber grip pad to make sure it will stay securely once it is in the right spot. Just be careful not to tighten the screw too much, as the mount tends to move up ever so slightly – which can be enough to jar the mount from the monitor (did this once while driving – do not recommend). The thing I liked most about this is the mount does not use an adhesive, as I wanted to avoid potentially damaging the monitor when the time comes to remove it from the car.
The arm is adjustable, so you can put it in a position that makes the phone most viewable for you. Mine is at roughly a 45 degree angle so it’s mostly out of the way of the monitor and the phone is not blocked by the steering wheel, however your preference may vary.
Overall, I love this thing. I can’t believe I waited this long to get one. It’s an absolute game changer for me, especially for something as simple as changing stations on a streaming radio app – which I couldn’t accomplish before without picking up and looking at the phone, taking my eyes off the road. And frankly, that should be the main goal here – making it safer to access your phone without hurting visibility. This mount accomplishes that perfectly!

This thing is almost perfect. But not quite. They way it mounts to the Tesla Model 3 main screen works beautifully and holds very secure with no slippage. The way it all locks down snug and holds position is excellent. The problem I have is the length of the main shaft is just not long enough. No matter which corner of the screen I mount to, it seems like the phone just doesn’t quite sit in the right orientation. But if the main shaft were just a little longer, it would allow the phone to clear the obstacles and allow a lot more viewing angle options. It would be even better if the main shaft were longer AND articulated. One more joint in the middle and about a third longer would be perfect. I would buy that without hesitation.
