Just installed the JLT 3.0 oil separator on my 2015 F-150 ecoboost only took me 10 minutes. Product appears to be of high quality, the instructions could not be easier to follow, took truck for a drive and all looks good no alarms, will see in few weeks what it picks up. You do not have to have any mechanical knowledge to install this unit.

For the price it feels like a well made product. The instructions are clear and they even have pictures to reference. One thing that I was surprised about but not against it your going to need to drill the edge of the battery tray to install I used the J-Clips but could have used the nuts for a cleaner look but the J-Clips are better for longevity sense there was no washers supplied and uninstalling if needed in the future.
Notes for install if I were to do It again…
1. Use a drill bit that is slightly bigger than the 6mm bolt. I used a perfect bit and I ended up needing to woller it out, yes that’s an Industry term.
2. The holes will need to be close to the edge because the clips only go so far towards the battery this is what I messed up the most. I put the holes in the center of the and should have been closer to the edge facing the coolant expansion tank.
3. Make sure the bracket isn’t squishing the wiring harness, mine turned out fine but just keep that in mind. Vibration plus metal bracket equals future problems with wiring.
Over all easy install and only because I made 8 trips though the house to get to the garage sense my door is broken at the moment it took me about 45min from when I opened the box to having all the tools put up. Now time to see how good to catch’s that slug.

I am glad I bought this for my 2013 ford f-150. It was a simply plug and play and it does what it says. I found that I have to empty the container maybe once a month depending on how much driving I do. If you know what this does for your vehicle then I shouldn’t have to explain how it works. I’m glad I bought this, definitely worth the price. I believe there is a bigger size to hold more fluids nowadays.

2018 F150 XLT 5.0 engine. It worked well however I did not mount it as directed. I didn’t like the way it stuck up in the air. So I placed mind by the end of the battery which looks much better. It snuggles in a little corner. The unit is a little higher than the valve covers. I emptied it 2 times at oil changes, 5000 miles each, and the can had a fair amount of oil in it. Sorry I didn’t measure it but I guess a couple tablespoons each empty. It is a weighty well made can. It doesn’t look or feel cheap. My only complain is that the rubber lines coming out of the can are not adjustable. If they swiveled then I could of had a better sitting position with the can. Hope this helps. I would of given it 4 stars for valve if the lines swiveled.

I’ve had mine for well over a year empty it monthly on my 2016 ford F150 2.7 ecoboost and let me tell you what this 3oz container fills up monthly and I have barely put a little over 14k miles on my truck in 2 years bought it used at 51k and it’s now at 63k I have a lead foot but who doesn’t in these trucks they are fun to drive super easy install and you won’t be disappointed no more smoke out the exaust at a warm startup keeps the engine way more clean all this would be pumped right back into your engine spend the money install it and check it every week to see how much gunk YOUR truck makes shouldbe able to figure it out after about a month of checking it weekly cheers everyone

It’s a direct fit for 2018 F150 5.0 coyote engine. Maybe 10 minutes overall installation time.
Results where amazing for me.
I was loosing oil, couldn’t figure why. Truck didn’t have no torque, no speed, engine made crazy noises if pushed pedal to the ground. Horrible gas mileage 12 mpg in the city, 18 mpg highway – if empty. If loaded with materials or towing mpg would drop to 8mpg city 13 mpg highway. After experimenting, I’ve learned that there is a negative pressure in the crank case, because it’s connected to air intake. So there is no way oil would leak through rings and gaskets in to the cylinder, it was actually engineered to be delivered by air intake and injected in to cylinder mixed with fuel, and air.
So be careful choosing an oil, make sure it’s per ford specifications, so you may not ruin the fuel injection system.
After installation of JLT oil catch can, results and car performance changed dramatically.
17 – 18 City MPG and 24-26 highway MPG, depends on if I’m running AC or not. Torque is always there.
But question is: why have engineers designed engine the way it requires an oil catch cans and if it’s required at all?
I’m going to keep experimenting and investigating on why do we need it at all.

Arrived on time and as described. I installed in on my 2012 F-150 3.5L Ecoboost and it was pretty simple as the quick connects fit perfectly. These catch-can solutions can be a bit pricey, but this one does seem to be working. I check it approx every 5,000 km and am amazed at the amount of oil and sludge that is captured.

I read that adding an oil separator to my 2019 F-150 Lariat (it has the 3.5l EcoBoost engine) was a good idea to improve engine life and longevity. This one was a super simple install – literally about 10 minutes from popping the hood to being done. Note that you should have a ratchet extension bar to get the engine cover off, but once you do that it’s a simple removal of the original hose, mounting the bracket, attaching the can and connecting the 2 new hoses. Simple as simple can be and I am NOT an auto mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. I haven’t driven enough yet to open it and see what it’s collecting but I’m going to assume it’s doing what it’s supposed to.
Update September 6, 2019:
After driving about 2500 miles (this was installed on a basically brand-new truck) I decided to check and see what – if anything – was collected in this. It’s easy to unscrew and remove the ‘can’ from the mount and I found about 1/4″ of liquid in the bottom. It was oil-colored but definitely not the consistency of oil. Reminded me of watery coffee. I disposed of that and screwed the can back on. In my opinion, this is clearly doing what it’s advertised to so it was worth buying and installing.

For the 2011 F150 3.5 ecoboost, the installation is very convenient. Judging from the appearance, the quality of the pipe is very good. Whether it is durable or not will not be known until it is used for a period of time.

Installed the JLT Oil Separator on my 2012 f150 3.5 eco boost and my 2013 aswell after doing some research on them. Came across the JLT one as I wanted to get something with good reviews and a overall a fair price. Once I got the product just looking at the box you could tell it was high quality and by a company who backed the product they was selling.
Seems to come with a lifetime warranty which is awesome, but to be fair I doubt many would have issues where they would actually need to use it, but only time will tell.
Installation was pretty easy and straight forward, I did have a slight issue with the inserts for the battery tray clips, they wouldn’t quite fit in the bottom hole so I had to drill the hole to make it bigger on my battery box. But once I got that sorted out installation took maybe 30 minutes.
Overall a high-quality product for the price, would recommend.
