I purchased these battery terminals for use on a small boat. The battery drives a self tending bilge pump andlivesin a damp environment. The steel fasteners on the existing terminals had corroded and required replacement. These products offer corrosion protection which is why I purchased them. A year from now I will know how they have performed. So far, so good.
Follow up January 17, 2019- just a note of caution. I keep my marine batteries in my basement over the winter connected to battery tenders. I’ve had great success with this approach. My batteries were cleaned and attached to the battery tenders in early October. 2018. Just noticed yesterday that there has been an ongoing corrosion issue with the clamp on the positive terminal on a common car sized battery. On removing and cleaning the resulting mess, I found that the nut that tightens the clamp against the battery terminal post has lost half its circumference. The bolt the nut was attached to had been corroded half way through in the area between the tightening flanges. The 3/8-16 bolt and wing nut were not used in the electrical connection and remained in apparently good condition. All fastening components were attracted by a magnet. I suspect that these pieces may have been made of 304 stainless which might explain the lower resistance to corrosion. The clamp body does appear to be made of brass and is not attracted to a magnet.
I will replace the fasteners with known quality stainless pieces and try again. Stay tuned….

I have bought these for several of my cars, and both of my forklifts. Easy to install. The only downside to them is that the bolt likes to back itself out over time since tightening the wingnut sometimes turns the bolt at the same time.

They work extremely well and car batteries are cheaper than marine batteries. I’m using these in a Supra inboard wake board / ski boat. It’s basically a Ford 351 engine modified for marine use. (no sparking) The mounted easy and hooked up easy. If you have a boat and don’t have a trolling motor you don’t need a deep cycle battery. The difference in price? $258 for a Die Hard 600 CCA deep cycle marine battery. 1 year replacement, 2nd year pro rated. My new battery Die Hard 940 CCA (cold cranking amps) $109 with a 3 year replacement warranty. and 2 year pro rated.

My goal with this purchase was to have more durable and less likely to corrode battery terminals. I accomplished both goals with these. The battery cables on my 2006 Ram diesel are quite expensive as diesels use much larger cables then gas engines. The factory lead battery terminals that are made onto the cables fatigue over time and once they need replacement, the entire cable needs replacement, for many people, as they don’t know how to convert them like this. With these terminals I was able to cut my old terminals off, solder eyelets onto the cables, and bolt the cables to these terminals for a very durable, corrosion-free, configuration. When I installed mine, I removed the bolts and wing nuts and replaced them with a nut in the bottom and used a bolt from the top so that I could tighten them down more than a wing nut could. While it may not look quite as clean as the made-on terminals, I will never have to replace an entire cable if the terminal needs replacement. However, since these are not lead terminals, I feel like these terminals will outlast the truck. They have been on the truck for almost four years now, and have not been cleaned. The pics are how they look after almost four years. I have jump-started the truck many times over these years, as I don’t drive it much and when I forget to turn the GPS off it will kill the batteries over a few days. Clamping jumper cables to them has had no effect since the brass is harder than lead.

I bought these for my Dad to use on his bass boat. He has quite a few electronics that get connected to the batteries and he was looking for an easy way to be able to remove the cables from the battery without actually dealing directly with the battery terminal. These fit right on the battery terminal with a nice snug fit. They haven’t moved at all. The wing nuts allow him to quickly remove the accessories that attach to the batteries so that they don’t drain the battery when not in use. They also help a ton with with being able to organize the accessory wires that attach the batteries.
The quality of the cast metal seems to be good. Everything feels sturdy and looks thick enough that it won’t stress and break.
I would suggest this product for anyone who needs a little extra room to organize accessory wires, anyone who is looking for an easy way to be able to easily disconnect accessories while not in use.

The base of the clamp is solid brass, but has a shinny film on which needs to be filed/sanded down to make a clean connection. But the real problem is the stainless steel bolts thread through the middle that you hook all your cars wires to. Mine turned over like a dead battery was happening. Checked everything out and found it was a conductivity issue. Replaced the stainless bolts with $20 solid brass bolts and now all I do is flick the key forward and it starts. Dont even hear the starter turning over before the engine is fired up. DO NOT use stainless steel bolts they have next to zero zinc in them and for DC current are on the low end for conductivity of current.

As you try to tighten the wing nut, the screw that the wing nut tightens onto is also threaded into the brass, and will try to unscrew itself. You really need to ham on tightening them down, to avoid that issue. Some minor concerns about stripping out the brass when I did, but it didn’t strip, and seems fine now. I’d really like to have seen a design that locked the screw in place, but these are still functionally amazing, compared to OEM terminals. I am currently very satisfied with how they are doing, and I put these on all my batteries and vehicles, and have for years.
