The problem with these reviews is there is no way give separate ratings for a great product but terrible packing and shipping on the part of Amazon. Like so many others, my can of body filler came with the lid dislodged and part of the product spilling out into the box. How is this not an urgent environmental safety hazard? The product is definitely hazardous; it explains the dangers right on the label. For this to be shipped: 1) with no clips holding the can lid in place; 2) with NO interior padding in the Amazon-logo box, allowing the can to bounce around unbounded, is unacceptable. I don’t know if the clips should be Amazon’s or the manufacturer’s responsibility, but that responsibility is being shirked. And CLEARLY Amazon is consistently deficient in: 1) identifying a repeat problem, 2) classifying the product as requiring special packaging, 3) using friggin’ common sense on the part of the employee (robot?) who’s putting the can in the box. I took extra steps to get Amazon on the phone about this problem (there was a bit of a language barrier) and to the best of my limited ability (as a lowly customer they don’t want to hear from) insisted (with their “promise” of a follow-up) that they investigate and FIX this problem. We shall see. I was able to secure a refund for the damage incurred.
As far as the product is concerned, I like it. My rating is for the product only, NOT Amazon’s performance. I give it 4 out 5 stars for the sole reason that I suspect the manufacturer is probably the one who should be providing the security clips to hold the can lid in place. The product itself performs well and as advertised. It is definitely lighter and creamier than the Bondo products I have used. I like the blue activator (instead of that ugly rusty pink color), and it does a great job of curing the resin according to how much you use. Over time you get used to the color the mixed product should be and how fast it will cure. Because the product IS lighter and creamier, this could possibly be an issue for applying to vertical surfaces; you could probably lay Bondo on in thicker layers on a vertical surface without fear of it sagging. It cures hard and is workable just as well as fillers costing twice as much. I will likely buy it again, but Amazon had damn well better fix the shipping problem first.
