I have several DeWalt tools, so I was happy to see that this kit came with a new 20V battery and charger. The battery maintainer itself is something I had never seen before. I didn’t realize that you can actually charge your car’s battery using the OBD-II port. I will be taking a trip soon where my car will be sitting at the airport for about 2 weeks, so I plan to use this to keep my car’s battery in good shape while I’m gone. But even if your car is only idle for a few days, I think this device would be great if you typically park your car outside. If your car is parked in your driveway or on the street in the winter, the battery can drain faster in cold weather, so this device can help prevent having to call AAA to jumpstart your car on a cold morning. Supposedly it can keep your battery charged for up to 3 weeks. I will update this review after my trip since this will give me the perfect chance to thoroughly test it.

ATTENTION: Apartment/Condo-dwellers: If you store a seldom-driven vehicle, and don’t have access to electricity, but want to maintain a vehicle’s battery, and all memory settings, then this is THE SOLUTION.
Charge the (NEW) DeWalt Lithium Battery Pack in your apartment, then take it to your vehicle, and plug it into the OBD2 (or newer) Diagnostic Port. It will charge your vehicle’s battery, if necessary, and maintain it for up to 3 weeks. (Keeps all your electronic settings intact too). Repeat the process as needed…I’ve been waiting for something like this new, award-winning product for years!

This battery maintainer is useful for vehicles that don’t get run often, and/or to keep from losing all the electronics settings when swapping out the vehicle battery. Easy to use, just plug into the OBD-II PORT, insert the battery, and it does its thing. Nice that it doesn’t need plugged into a wall receptacle, and that it can be secured in a locked vehicle. Negative to that is it needs a replacement battery every few weeks, so need to be on site more often than with a wired maintainer. Convenient that it’s 20V Dewalt, as we already have extra batteries on hand to use with it. Make sure battery is full charged before using it as a maintainer, I applied to a vehicle that I had run for 10 minutes it after had been sitting idle for a few months, the next day the battery was down to one bar. Price of this vs a wired maintainer make the wired maintainer the best option in most situations. This item has the most merit when an AC outlet isn’t handy, such as a hunting cabin or airport parking lot.

Did not work out of box. Killed my car battery car is winter stored so just went to check on it today and battery is right flat will probably need to be replaced. Advertisement on this product is false will not maintain a charge look elsewhere this is a scam.

This reduced unit comes in very convenient when you don’t have an air conditioner plug close where you keep your vehicle left. This is really smart to keep a battery finished off and not expecting to stress over having your hood open with links coming out associated with a charger. I have a vehicle that is low mileage and sits bounty. This is good to simply trade out the battery one time per month and not expecting to stress over a drained battery. This is exceptionally helpful and proves to be useful in a various vehicle family where not all vehicles are driven constantly. A lot simpler than attempting to fun electrical ropes and stress over climate. This little unit with 5AH battery connects to you OBD2 port and keeps up with through that port. This way you don’t have the hood partially open and wires running in/out of the area. This unit incorporates a charger which can finish off the battery in about 60 minutes. The 5Ah battery professes to be enough for roughly 4weeks of keeping up with. What a cunning thought and a helpful one at that. The main other option in contrast to this is on the off chance that you get a maintainer with little sun powered charger, even its not 100 percent. The special reward of this pack is the battery works with my current power devices at home.

I use it to maintain AGM battery in one of my cars that is not frequently use. It maintains battery of my car perfectly. I’m very impressed with this portable battery maintainer kit, which NO need to plug into an AC outlet, NO more long extension cords to connect to a battery maintainer. Battery maintainer is designed for constant and long term use. When used correctly, it should be perfectly safe to use as long as you need.
This maintainer kit helps to preserve and maintain the charge level of the battery of my car. My car can start without having to get a jump start. Nothing worse than getting ready and being stopped by a dead battery. It works, no issues, and gets the job done. Great value product. Thank you.

This thing is great to have when you need it. The concept is simple – maintain your battery through your OBDII port. The included 5Ah battery lasted a month, then I swapped to another.
I can think of 3 situations where I would have loved to have this in the past:
1. I have a car not driven often. Rather than needing an electrical cord to connect a maintainer to the battery, this will do nicely for a month, then change out your battery with another Dewalt 20v each month. No wires, no fires.
2. When working on your car, and needing to replace the battery or disconnect the battery terminal, this will maintain your radio, seat and other stored settings.
3. If your car – like mine – has an electronic hood release, and that is also where your battery is…..what do you do when your battery is dead from the car sitting without being driven for awhile? Plug this baby in and you’re able to pop the hood after a short recharge period.
Bottom line: A little expensive, but half the cost is for the battery and charger. You won’t regret the purchase when you need this device.
