I bought this for my 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier and it works perfectly. It’s nice and sturdy and is a solid item. There is s small keyhole cover that is a nice touch, however, that broke off probably at about tank twenty. But as a matter of fact, I’m actually glad it came off, it was just one extra step, having to slide it over to uncover the keyhole on each fill up, and then having to make sure and slide it back to cover the keyhole. Now I just put the key in and unlock it. But I highly recommended this item if you need a licking gas cap, it works good.

I bought to replace an old locking gas cap. This one fit the gas pipe and was the same in size in most ways but would not lock on my gas pipe. It fit and worked just would not lock. Well made, fast shipping, decent price. I wanted it to work as I just like having a locking gas cap. My current locking gas cap has a U figure (On Each Side Of The Pipe Below The Cap) for the locking mechanism. This one has a Smaller Diamond shape on each side

I’ve owned a few locking gas caps. Some have been junk and others were a pain to use. This one fits tight and the key/locking/unlocking action, by comparison to other locking gas caps I’ve purchased, is smooth and easy. A pleasure to use. What I consider to be a quality product.
Price wise, considering the cost of today’s gas, stopping a would be gas thief from jacking your car for five gallons, what price peace of mind? So it’s money well spent.

My best advice for this product is to make sure it is compatible with your car. Most of the negative reviews are people that purchased by similar look, not by compatibility. Amazon’s compatibility checker was right with my 2000 Chevy Blazer LT. I had one that was wearing and started turning on my service engine light. Immediately it stopped and I noticed it ran a lot smoother with this new one. Fit perfectly. I would recommend if you aren’t sure of your compatibility to check on other sites like autoparts and see what models they recommend for that car and research those. Mine happened to have a similar model and this was that alternatives competition so I ordered this one since the brand is a lot more trusted.

worked fine for the first 2 times i used it. on the 3rd the lock broke and came out of the cap, luckily it was in the unlock position. im being sent a new one. hopefully that one works better, ill update the review if it does.

Incredibly poorly made. Lock cylinder was stiff and difficult to operate out of the box. I used some graphite lock lubricant and it worked a little better, so I tried it out on the car. It worked ONCE. The second time I tried to open it only two weeks later, I was low on gas in remote Wyoming in the dead of night, and it was stuck locked shut! I would have been stranded all night if not for a helpful trucker with a pair of giant Channel-Lock pliers who had to break this cheap, terrible gas cap so I could fuel up. I did use the new gasket from this abomination to replace the cracked, dried-up O-ring on the old cap (which, luckily, I had not thrown away yet).
Conclusion: this Motorad locking gas cap is extremely poorly made, and could endanger your life or cause huge inconvenience when it breaks. DO NOT PURCHASE. Get a Stant or genuine GM instead.

Works as it should, be aware that when locking and unlocking you may need 2 hands. Time will tell to durability of seal, valve and lock. I advise those of us with no locking gas cap door to purchase a locking cap. Due to rising gas prices there are alot of gas thefts happening, NO VEHICLE IS SAFE….

Does the job of securing the gas filling hole on a 2003 Buick Rendezvous. No problems.
Edit (6-11-2018): The cap stopped locking after about 6 months of use. I’m not sure why. Anyhow, it still operates, but just won’t lock.

Hunk-o-crap was always difficult to use because the cylinder would drag and the key door would jam up. The key body is cheap plastic, so it broke and I couldn’t keep it on my keyring anymore. Finally, after about 6 months of this crap, it quit altogether. It jammed up to the point where I couldn’t get it off and I was stranded with not enough gas to get home. I found a prybar and snapped the stupid thing off and was able to gas up and get home.
Bought a Gates, WAY better and about the same price.

Bueno para blazer 2000, el seguro de la llave se siente ligeramente flojo, funciona bien
