We bought these for our fleet. Seemed ok, at first. For heavy truck/heavy equipment applications, the jaws sometimes need to be connected at a greater distance. For this reason, one normally just pulls the cables apart and the black/red sides separate cleanly. With these cables, pulling them apart caused the red side to split open, exposing the hot wire. If you do need to split the cables beyond the factory distance, you must carefully cut them apart, with a razor knife.

These cables are extremely stiff , but then I was tired of wet noodle cables that seemed of poor quality and undoubtedly had voltage drop from being such small gauge . These shall not have that problem . One needs as much voltage transfer from the good charging battery to the dead battery as possible —- here is where the 1 gauge cable shows its stuff , and they are longer so that one can pull up behind the dead battery vehicle and these cables will likely reach the full distance . The clamps seem of very nice design and I hope these are the last cables I have to buy . They come in a plastic case that should suffice ; avoiding buying another carrying case . I can not verify the long lasting effects of these cables , but they appear very well constructed . Ordered these in April 2016 and they are made in China . I am in no way disappointed in quality of these cables .

Great cables at a good price. Saved my diesel and a few friends a couple times now. Good heft design. Insulated clamps are well designed. Can get a little stiff when cold and hard to coil back up into the case but as far as functionality goes, that’s a minor issue.

Came in a great caring plastic box with a flash light. Very well built box and the cables and clap look great. Good price. At Princess Auto here in Canada they wanted $299.00 for same product with out the carrying case.

Very heavy duty cables and clamps. I bought these cables for the high amp rating, heavy gauge wire and long length. Mission accomplished. For that they deserve five stars. Some other reviewers have knocked the product for having cheap or flimsy clamps. Maybe the mfr changed their product recently, not sure, but the cables I received from this purchase on Amazon has amazingly strong, well built, solid clamps. They are NOT flimsy or cheap. Plus, the clamps have a very nice rubber cover all the way down to the teeth to ensure no accidental shorts when connected. Don’t worry, they will still bite into battery posts.
Some have reported the carry case is cheap plastic, may not hold up in the winter, etc. The carry case is the reason I knocked my review down to four stars. It’s not because the carry case is cheap plastic. The case feels strong enough to carry and store the heavy cables. The case has working latches to ensure the case doesn’t pop open even bouncing around over time. No, the case seems adequate and will handle the job of storing cables for years to come. Not sure what those other complaints are about…maybe they expected to use the case as some sort of winter down-hill toboggan? Not sure. The case works just fine and seems rugged enough to store cables.
My one-star knock comes from the fact that the product listing does NOT show or list that they come with a nice carry case. No where in the description does it say carry case included. I purchased a storage bag for jumper cables for $17 extra. Now I will be returning the storage bag, which is time and hassle. Had the product description clearly listed the case this would not be a problem for me, Amazon or the bag seller.

Nice heavy duty cables – intended use for us is our old diesel truck. The included flashlight was a nice bonus – not the world’s best but certainly handy. Best part? They arrived packed neatly inside of a latchable black box which is sturdy enough for cables. It is much weaker when you open it but when closed, it does its job. I will not drop ratings just for the box because this certainly keeps the costs down as well. It would be nice to see the ‘box’ as an optional upgrade between the standard that comes with it and a heavy duty model should someone actually desire it. Look nice. A little on the heavy side but you get what you pay for if ordering a low-gauge wire which has higher electrical handling (excellent). Very pleased w/ the cables so far!

Should have realized 1 Gauge was overkill but went for the quality. Cable is so big and heavy it barely fits in the carrying bag I ordered (didn’t need it anyway since it comes in its own plastic carrying box). If you keep these in a cold climate I’m guessing they’ll be nearly impossible to uncoil. Probably can jump start an airplane with them. They’re good but too damn big.

These are some heavy duty cables, seriously thick cables just like my 1ga welding leads , not 100% sure about the gauge wire in there ( and not cutting it open to find out ) but they work great even with a completely dead diesel. The cable is on the stiff side which I was expecting and GLAD to have trouble with when winding back up to put away in the case ( good cables DON’T wind up like a wet noodle )
I have a lot of experience with jumper cables LOL I have had cheap ones that wouldn’t jump start a lawn mower and really good ones that I use for my trucks and these are definitely goods ones, good enough to replace the set I have been using for years that would jump anything off. The only problem I had with my old set of cables is they were only 16′ which was a problem last time I had to use them which caused me to look at and buy these – and I have no regrets.
The clamps are a LOT better than I expected them to be, they hold really well and are built SUPER DUTY STRENGTH, these even worked out great jumping off my powerstroke after it sat for to long and they take a LOT of juice to get cranking.
The included case is just a cheap plastic box that I don’t see lasting very long but it is functional for now to keep them organized in my trucks toolbox which is great – if you have ever had a set of LONG cables get tangled up in a trucks tool box with all the other stuff in there you know what I mean.
They are a great value for the less than eighty dollars they cost now, 800ammps? not sure, but they do work good and are long enough to reach from one end of a vehicle to another.
BUY them while you can get them – they work great
I figured I would ad I am using these in Florida so can’t really comment as to how good they are in the freezing cold and hope I never can – but here in sunny Florida they flex as expected and work great

So far so good these cables are heavy duty and so far they have worked great on the farm
