Loves that it was a simple install, that took a muffler shop less than 30 mins to get it on my f150 5.0 . Did t sounds as loud as I thought it would but definitely alot less exhausts stress on the system with the easier flow of cfm’s. Highly recommend you take the resonator off as well for a little more ummpff. Great value and good muffler.

My factory exhaust was starting to rust out used this with universal exhaust hangers and stainless steel straight 3in pipe and a pre bent tail pipe to replace the factory exhaust. Like the louder deeper tone on idle also not super loud inside the car when you step on it. Saved a little weight vs the factory also much less back pressure. Since you can look right through this muffler vs factory.

Got this for my 2017 5.3 Sierra. I wanted something that was a direct fit and easy to install, I did need a couple of reducers and naturally a couple of clamps but it was a very simple replacement. I was worried it would be too loud but it is actually very subtle and sounds like a slightly throatier, healthy OE which is what I was hoping for so if your looking for something that is really aggressive this isn’t it but if your looking for something above factory this will do. I know a lot of people talk about that exhaust flap whether or not to wire it open or just straight remove it but I couldn’t tell you if there is a difference because my factory muffler ate mine so it’s always open but it still sounds fine when I’m running on 4 cylinders and I don’t get any drone. For a $100 muffler this isn’t a bad way to go.

Bought this for my 2017 tahoe. It isn’t anywhere near long enough. Had to add 2 inches of pipe to both ends of the muffler. On top of that the inlet and outlet size is also off by a half inch. Finally got it installed after completely modifying it, and it sounds almost exactly the same as my stock setup. On the scale of 1 to 10 the stock setup sound was a 2. After installation of this muffler it is now a 2.5. And thats being generous. Don’t waste your money on this. It’s junk.

Muffler is a direct fit for my 2014 Silverado but that being said it looks well made but the time it took me to cut the old muffler off and weld this new one on was not worth it because it sounds about the same as stock I was looking for a little bit more aggressive sound so if you’re looking for anything louder than stock do not buy this muffler take it from me and a couple other people on here

The Dynomax website gave me all the information I needed to make a decision. It even gave me an idea of what the muffler will sound like. Muffler is quiet at idle which is what you would like to see but when you start moving, there is a nice, not menacing, rumble. As for the muffler’s ability to help my mileage, I hope it does but I am not expecting to notice it. First off, on an older truck, a ’03 Dodge Ram 2500 with 186K miles, I may not even see it. Because of the muffler design, however, I do believe that I get better performance. There seems to be a little bit more pep in the old girl these days.

Note- I used to work at a speed shop selling these and many other mufflers, and have owned various performance cars with various different mufflers since the late 80’s.
This is really one of the best-designed mufflers out there. It’s not stainless, but it is heavy gauge aluminized steel that lasts quite a long time. I bought this one to replace one that I’ve owned since the ’90’s and has been on 3 different cars that finally had a seam rust through, that I could probably fix but I wanted to go quieter (the old one was the same layout but next shorter case length) since the vehicle I’m putting it on has a cut-out and I can open it to go MUCH louder when I want to.
At idle these mufflers can be pretty quiet and have a nice, loudish low-frequency tone at more open throttle, just note that a longer case length and to a lesser extent more offset between the inlet and outlet make it quieter. As far as performance, if you go to Dynomax’s site you’ll find information about the actual flow of each muffler as well as how much HP it can support without restriction (it used to be on the main site but I couldn’t find it last time, but it is still in their downloadable PDF catalogs). You’ll find that compared to just about every other reasonably priced muffle out there these flow better and are as durable as many all stainless mufflers. If you take the time to look them up you’ll find a few of the case layouts (including this one and the shorter version of this one) have flow numbers WAY higher than most others and do not present a restriction at any power level you’re likely to see on the street (this one is tested at 1800SCFM airflow and not a restriction at up to 818hp for a single muffler). FWIW the car has dynoed at 498hp to the wheels with a single of the next smaller muffler on it, and it doesn’t show any change with the cutout open or closed (it just lets me adjust how much noise I want to make)
