The driver’s door power window motor gave out on my 2006 Sation Ion 3 Coupe and needed a replacement. I thought about getting a used one from a pull-a-part junk yard but the price of the used motor, and the time of getting it out of the junked car (if I could locate a junked car near me that has one), just didn’t make sense. This window motor and regulator assembly from Dorman really is a high quality part. Fit like a glove. Follow the tips and instructions found in the other comments and you should be good to go. Glad that Dorman supplies parts for older vehicles.

WOW! I have a 2006 Saturn that I adore (no laughing please). The driver side automatic window stopped working which is a real pain in the
behind. Two dealers wanted $890.00 and $800.00 respectively to replace the window control arm and motor. WHAT??
Since I am a smart girl I researched the crap out of this mechanism. Was it made from gold? Was the dealer really charging
me $250.00 an hour?
Found this website, ordered the part, the OEM one for well under $100.00. It arrived the next day packed perfectly. I then found
a young mechanic kid who was willing to install it for me. I watched the entire time. While true the inside door panel had to be removed
but because the part was an exact OEM replacement in went in easily. The whole job took about an hour.
This website seems to have everything for any car in stock. I liked that they had both the actual OEM part and a less expensive
alternate. In this case I thought it was important to buy the OEM part but maybe for something less important than the
window controller I’d go with a cheaper substitute.
So: East to maneuver website, ordering was simple, product arrived the next day and was exactly as represented.

All is good ya gotta watch some retailers in your local auto parts they are selling this same part for double the money. Meaning same brand name and same part number. Working just fine still early to tell on longevity if it fails and hopefully not after the 30 days I will update. Only took me about 45 minutes to get it changed out. You many want to buy some spray adhesive for the factory plastic to go back after i pealed mine off the tar strip did not want to stick back. That plasitc matt is a sound deadener and also helps keep out moisture.

This was for the drivers door on a 2006 Saturn Ion but it likely fits many GM vehicles from that era. I won’t repeat what others have said but this was very easy to install and works great. Search youtube for instructions.
Additional comments: you can buy the lever part or the motor part individually but it makes no sense to do that (effort,cost,time). Just buy as one unit as this item is.
The new item has 4 new attachment bolts installed (see default product pic) so, after detaching the glass, all you have to do is remove the one bolt out at the end of the one arm (not supplied w new item), LOOSEN the 4 bolts on the door (prob 10mm) and then slide everything up and left about an inch and it comes out. No need to take the bolts out all the way on the old or new part. Just slide the new one into door, line up the holes, tighten.
As mentioned in every instruction is that you need to hold the glass up somehow. A plastic door wedge should work but I happened to have a couple of lever activated suction cups for carrying /holding sheets of glass or mirrors. I just put one on the glass and moved it around as I raised and lowered it slightly as needed for removal and install.
Also, the window glass attaches to the lift arm by two small plastic pieces which you might need or want to replace. Gm # 21170767 should get you pointed in the right direction. I found an oem 2 pack delivered for eight bucks on a popular auction site.
