When the product came in you could tell it was a return and that the person prior disassembled it. I had to compare the old unit(glad it was kept) and then reassemble the new one. All in all call it 2.5 hrs if my time to align the cables and re-lube and assemble. After that the install was straight forward. Zero for directions and hardware was missing. Again I saved the old parts so it went together with them. But with time invested to the price of this reassemble and repair, call it a loss. If all the products sold are like this, I would rather take the own replacement and save money.

This was easy to install and did work great at first. I just hit thirteen months since purchase and it already broke. I rolled my window up Friday when I got to work and heard a loud pop sound. Yesterday when leaving to get gas I attempted to roll my window down. You heard the mechanism move but my window does not. I’m feeling like this was a huge waste of money!
Update I reached out to support and they offered a replacement, but said it may take a few days for Amazon to process it. Waiting to see.

Overall the item looked to be same quality as factory. There is one exception…the rubber rests that the glass sits on are too tall. This will not allow the clip to snap into the hole in the glass. They will either require some trimming with a razor blade, or in my case I removed the factory original rubber rests off my old unit and inserted into the new part. These rubber rests just slide in and out easily. The window glass slid in and locked into place immediately after the replacement. Very easy to install and does not take any major mechanical skills over screws, bolts and clips. Plenty of videos on YouTube. Take note of the rubber rests and you should be able to do the job in less than 45 mins. I hope this helps. You will get good at this job as these units break constantly. There are other kits you can use if you just need the plastic pieces and not a new motor.

Bought this to fix my daughters driver side window that would not go up or down. It was a direct replacement for the OEM part. Fit perfectly and all the mounting holes lined up right. No modifications were needed. Great product and would definitely purchase Dorman replacement parts again.

This is an inferior design from the beginning. Part makers keep copying the same design. Plastic wear pieces don’t last but a few years then break and you have to replace everything including the motor. Someone should design a more durable wear piece. Went 6 years before having to replace driver’s side twice, pass side once…so far.

Update: Not even three months have passed and this product broke!! the plastic mechanism that lowers and rises the window. Came off the track and is currently sitting at the bottom of the door. Locked in place tighter than a sealed drum. Thank you
