    I had high hopes for this phone holder. There aren’t a lot of options for a phone holder for a Mini, which has a dashboard full of rounded surfaces, including round air vents. This holder isn’t marketed for a Mini, but the product description said it would fits “some” Minis. I could not make it work with mine (2013 Countryman). At one point I thought I had gotten it installed snugly enough to stay put, but I had barely driven a handful of blocks before the holder fell off the vent, turning on my windshield washers in the process. The phone stayed attached, which speaks well for the strength of the magnet. There are two sizes of air vents on the dashboard of my Mini, and I tried this holder with both. With both sizes of vents, the holder looked like it should work, but it never stayed in place for me. Another potential problem, which might happen in the cars that it actually fits, is that the holder is heavy enough that its weight shut the louvers in the vents, making the holder end up at the bottom of the vent. It was possible to position the phone so that the screen was visible, but the airflow through that vent was shut down. I’m giving this three stars because it might work in other cars, even though it was useless to me.

    The media could not be loaded.

    This MagSafe car mount is made of plastic, but it still feels solid and well-designed. It fits perfectly into the round air vents of my Mercedes, and the grip stays tight thanks to the screw-lock mechanism.

    The magnetic connection is very strong — it holds my iPhone 15 Pro Max without slipping, even on rough roads. No interference with calls, GPS, or wireless charging, which was important for me.

    It’s lightweight, easy to install, and the 360° swivel makes it easy to find the perfect angle. For the price, it does exactly what it promises, and the two extra metal rings in the box are a nice bonus.

    Finally found a cellphone mount that fits into the oddly shaped A/C vent of my vehicle (2023 Mercedes Benz EQE). It is easy to install and the magnetic hold is very strong. Although it held my phone at highway speeds as well as over speed bumps, the vent itself is very loose so the weight of the phone causes the vent to move with smallest movement of the car. It’s no fault of the cellphone mount but the a/c vent itself.

    Works great with my mini cooper. I needed something to keep the phone off the dash, where I had it before. With a mini I can hardly see over the dash when I had my phone there, so it really did help not only with visibility but safety.

    Holds the phone really well on my 2019 GLC. Does not dip down much from the weight. Magnet is the right strength. Don’t see it breaking the vent

    Very good and has a very easy installation process. It holds my phone quite well and it has excellent weight distribution so it doesn’t make my phone fall mid drive. It’s incredibly sturdy and I think it’s a great value for money.

    Pros: It seems widely compatible with a number of different Mercedes car vents, including the GLA. The MagSafe is strong. It installs easily and quickly and is pretty intuitive. The swivel joint is adjustable, allowing you to tighten or loosen the swivel.

    Cons: It’s a little bulky. The attachment to the vent is all a little thicker than it needs to be, perhaps. It does block the vent almost entirely.

    I would recommend with the caveat that you know that you’re losing a vent. In the GLA, there’s 3 in the center so no big loss but not sure if that’s true for other Mercedes models.
